So, my advice to you to be more humble. By now, you are the most cheeky German I have ever met, but actually I got used to that.

And why exactly should I be humble, while the sin of pride is oozing out of your every pore? Honestly, I have never seriously wronged a single person in my life.

History, to a certain degree, is fiction. The problem you have with me is that I don't buy into the fiction you try to sell, which among other things consists of the "eternally evil German" and that communist fairy tale of the "Recovered Territories". To put it sarcastically: Of course, I believe the treaty of Versailles (1918) to be a crime committed by the vicious French and all subsequent changes to Germany's borders to be unfair ;). But that doesn't mean that I would ever act on these impulses. I like my life. I like the fact that I got a university education. I like not having to worry if I might starve. I like having sex instead of freezing my *ss off in some army camp. I like the fact that Germany - despite all its problems - is a highly developed and economically strong nation. And as a patriot I certainly wouldn't advocate any action that changes this (This is also why your fear of yet another Prussian/German invasion is idiotic: Germans are far too well-off for that: So much to lose and nothing to gain).

And don't tell me you are above such musings: You certainly also think that that polytheistic sect of yours is "right" (it's not, we Lutherans are *LOL), but that doesn't mean you go out each night butchering jews and protestants.

I must confess you something although reluctantly. Talking to you Germans, descendants of those I mentioned above, is ALWAYS traumatic to me.

Actually, I do understand. I believe it comes with the size and geographic location of Germany. There is a theory which more or less says that Germany has always suffered from being too big and too small at the same time.

Germany, with its 82 million inhabitants, like it or not, is the largest and most powerful nation in western Europe, which raises the suspicion of it's neighbors. It's too big to be just another nation like the Netherlands. On the other hand every two of the other big western European nations (e.g. the UK and France) combined (or Russia alone, for that matter) are much more powerful. So it's also much to small to dominate Europe like Brasil does South America or the US does North America. That, combined with it's location in the middle of Europe has always made its neighbors feel uneasy, and that's something that will probably never go away. A French perspective on that very topic can be found in "De la prochaine guerre avec l'Allemagne" by Philippe Delmas. So I realize it's probably futile trying to convince you otherwise.

I feel a strange kind of fear, a subconscious fear that there may come a day when I won't be able to defend my kids just like my grandfather's brother couldn't defend his family when Germans came, shot them all and burned the house somewhere in 1941.

Yeah, but you're missing one thing: The complete lack of a motive (remember: To every crime there is a means, an opportunity and a motive). Then: The "Schande von Versailles". Now: "Wirtschaftswunder" and prosperity.

If you see a cobra or a rattlesnake, do you hate them? No, you just carefully observe them not to be fatally stung or just try to avoid them and secure your home against them. And that's all.

But as I said: That's not what you're doing. Instead you exhibit the sin of pride, arrogance even. Matthew 7,20 says "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." There was no openly hostile act from Germany towards Poland for 60 years (And don't say "potatoe", Polish newspapers are far worse. With regard to the baltic pipeline there's a conflict, a competition of national interests, but such happens). And still you insist on badmouthing present-day Germans. That's not because you're afraid of the serpent, it's because you're a germanophobe racist.

I hope we'll finish this pointless public correspondence. It leads to nowhere.

Understand one thing: You may find the fact that I speak my mind "cheeky", because you value political conformity over free expression. I can't change that. But that's not me. I've been beaten up on my way to school for one and a half years because I told the local "wannabe neo-nazi" gang what they were: idiots! I cherished my right to free speech so much that I endured brass knuckles. So don't think I will keep my mouth shut when you speak nonsense just to accommodate your perception of what's appropriate. I certainly can live with being the immodest German in your eyes.

Other than that I'm certainly not looking for a fight.
