I suppose they want to keep the military out so they can turn more land over to Boulder greenies to go backpacking in.

Personally, I'd be thrilled if I was backpacking and wandered into a helo training exercise... provided it wasn't "live fire", it'd be more exciting than watching a deer chomp flowers.

You and me both. Actually, some of the campgrounds are close to commercial air routes, so it's pretty common to see and hear commercial jets up there. Every now and then you see one going a lot faster than the rest - those are fun.
