Not surprising given his recent long flights. Thank goodness we can treat with the low molecular weight heparins instead of hospitalizing people for a week like we used to.

That must be a pretty new treatment because I had a dvt back in 2000 and had to be in the hospital for a week (over Christmas, no less). I had a broken ankle and apparently, the cast was on too tightly.

The new meds are a great help. I had a problem years ago after flying from Spain to India then to Australia and then back to Chicago. I was in bed with IV heprin and saying my prayers with every heartbeat.

A blood clot is very scary and I'm sure the Vice-President is receiving the best medicine available. Even so, with his health history I hope the give him the old fashioned protocol so he really has time to heal and rest. God give him mercy and healing.
