And you want to know a really quirky situation. Like I said, the Senate chooses the VP. If the Senate were to be tied 50-50, Dick Cheney would still officially be Vice President and would have the authority to break the tie and select his successor.

How would the Senate be tied? If the election is so divided, that there is no electoral College winner, the GOP would NOT have gained back any seats.
