Here's a news flash for you.
We're already there.

"
As it stands now, there really isn't that much difference between the Rs and the Ds."
I've been quoted as saying, "The only real difference between a "D" and an "R" is in the shape of the crook standing behind the straight guy."
To that, I must add, "A "C" or an "I" are two unique individuals."

Why does that poll ignore Hunter?
To: oceanview
I was under the impression that the president withholding both support and funds from the RNC had a bit to do with that. I could be wrong.

More accurately, Republicans are willing to dump conservatives - and go into the political wilderness for the next 40 years...AGAIN.
You did it once...and we know you'll do it again...before you'll work toward a more conservative party.

On the basis of what principle would someone refuse to support Rudy against Hillary? Why, 18 months in advance, do people think that Rudy has a lock on being the nominee for the GOP?
If Rudy IS the GOP nominee for the office of President, running against Hitlery or Obama, then I probably would vote for Rudy.
Will I vote for Rudy in the primaries? No way.

You really need to do something about the projection thingie.
That is what SHE said...
My projecting "thingie" is none of your concern Mr. Edweirds...
To: Maelstrom
no, I don't see that. they can't win with the conservatives ALONE. now, they may well not be able to win without them if they stay home. but that is the dicey nature of coalition politics.
otherwise, the party is just going to sit around waiting for the next Reagan. and he was a once in a generation politician.

...otherwise, the party is just going to sit around waiting for the next Reagan. and he was a once in a generation politician. It is worth noting that "once in a generation politicians" are rarely Republican, let alone conservative Republicans.

"Mayor Giuliani polls well in the beltway and NYC. But without the NRA, Mayor Giuliani will never carry the GOP.
And I'm the NRA."
Me too. Don't forget the pro-life conservatives and the anti-government conservatives. Rudy polls well with the Washington Post but have you seen these unscientific polls conducted on FR? Apparently he doesn't poll well even given the shrillness of the Rudy supporters.

F. Thompson is on record voting against at least one amnesty. I'm surprised but pleased to hear of that vote. If he truly stands for border security as an important component of national security, he has a better chance of bringing together the party and winning.

Actually, LtdGovt and JustShutUpAndTakeIt are the Homer and Jethro team from the Giulliani campaign office. Only, they're not quite as talented.
Doesn't matter the thread, these two come on and prop up Rudy and rip at Conservatives.
Just give up on trying to talk to them.
It's no use.

They support the homos and hate the Religious folks.
But since I am an atheist, their anti-Christian blather has no affect.
I am tired of these people who try to pass some perversion of nature off as a normal thing. It is a fetish, a religion of deviance and I will not bend my knee in acquiescence to it.
I wish TED NUGENT was there at CPAC... That would really make these feminized males want to take their Midol!

Sarge, have you given a close look at Duncan Hunter? Please do. If we don't support a real conservative leading up to the primaries by supporting them to win the GOP nomination, then we'll never get the opportunity to vote for one in the general election. If the 2008 general election comes down to Guliani and Hitlery, then the liberals will have won either way.
