>> Ann Coulter is just visciously stupid.
Do you mean viciously stupid as in evil stupid or viscously stupid as in fluid stupid? Given her IQ is well above 130 and you still feel she is stupid, should we infer you're a genius?
It's just the same as if our military were to resort to the same tactics as the terrorists. There are other ways to win, some that are actually stronger. We can outsmart them. amd I agree that we should be doing more of that, but become vicious and we lose way more then they do.
What really chaps my hide is hearing so-called conservatives/Republicans scolding Ann for being "vicious" -- just like DU. Seriously, they remind me of Nancy Pelosi.
I'm sick of it.
The joke was hilarious. We apparently have some nanny-grannies here who apparently have surrendered the battle of wits to the left.
There's a really good reason why repubs don't form into "groups" like the dems do.
One of the basic principles of repubs is - INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM - meaning we don't like "group think".
However, there are times when STANDING TOGETHER is the only way to defeat the enemy. We need to do that more often.
I have the impression that all we are capable of doing is forming circular firing squads.
Good point. The problem is that with Democrats while you are being truthful they are tearing you apart. Republicans are long past the time to become vicious, I believe it's too late to save the GOP from being eaten alive by the Democrat/Socialists.
You can't be a gentlemen with a thug. As someone said, never get in a pissin' contest with a skunk
The kind of clout that a $2500 personal contribution times 10 million people has, for instance. That would be enough to purchase ALL prime time TV for three months straight, plus purchase tenure for conservative professorships at all the major universities.
BUMP
But the only thing Edwards has is enjoying being a good looking guy. He has no ideas. So what do you attack. Why not point out that the only thing he has is being a good looking guy? It carried Clinton to the White House, because he had nothing else either.
I think our side needs to have some hard truth tellers -- vicious, if you will. This doesn't mean everyone has to do it. Just a few. The leftists deserve to be villified and skewered far more often than they get it. Ann has called them traitors, liars, and worshippers of the state. So, she called one of them a faggot, sort of. Spare me the histionics. She is not speaking on behalf of all conservatives and the Breck girl deserves the treatment.
Ms. Coulter too often drifts into nastiness, and humor driven by nastiness isn't funny.
One of the reasons I like Sean Hannity is that for the most part he tries to get liberals to say where they stand, and thus expose their absurd positions for what they are. I get most annoyed at him when he tries to talk over the people he's interviewing, though I recognize that sometimes that can be a result of technical issues.
One thing I wish conservatives would recognize is that a good conservative can score more points by answering hard questions than easy ones. I remember around 1992 Rush Limbaugh appeared on the Donahue show. A crowd filled with liberals, but I found Rush Limbaugh's answers on that show far more convincing (I was a liberal then) than anything he'd said on his own television show (which I'd watched on occasion but generally with derisive scorn).
No need to be vicious. What's necessary is to respond to the left's lies. They repeat gibberish as though it was the gospel truth.
"Bill Maher is an idiot."
A repulsive one, at that. This garbage we had the past week about how it was too bad Cheney didn't die was, for me, the last straw. The left is stupid, repugnant, uninformed, disinformed, and dangerous.
While I disagree only slightly with your premise that "it's too late" - because I believe in Jesus and He told me to believe, "It's never too late".
That said, your point (you cannot be a gentlemen with a thug) is well taken because I believe it's one of the reasons for Rudy's popularity. When he told the Saudi prince he could take his $10 million and put it where the sun don't shine .. Rudy gained a MEGA-sized following and it's never left him.
And .. again .. when Jesus confronted the Jewish leaders and called them "a brood of vipers" - He never apologized for speaking that truth about them.
People are looking for a STRONG MAN who will take the lead and say what needs to be said and let the chips fall where they may .. I don't mean spewing vicious hatred at other people.
But .. people (me included) are so sick and tired of the PC attitude and language .. and quite frankly, I've only seen Rudy and Newt step up to the plate in that regard.
I loved it when President Bush said, "Bring it on" - then he almost apologized for saying it and said it was his wife's idea to soften his speech. He almost lost me with that one.
Well put.
Besides... there's only one "Savage." ;-`
"The joke was hilarious."
What joke? Coulter probably believes Edwards is a "faggot".
"What's necessary is to respond to the left's lies. They repeat gibberish as though it was the gospel truth."
Yes they do .. and just a few days ago one of their tribe was spewing the old and tired "Gore really won 2000" garbage.
Both reporters at Fox just sat there and SAID NOTHING. You don't even have to be a repub or a conservative to challenge such a falsehood.
I'm sick of it!!
What conservatives need is to become fierce, but do so without becoming vicious. Viciousness is driven by hate, and I would posit that hatred is often a harmful emotion and very seldom a useful one. One should be fierce in combatting evil, recognizing it for what it is and despising it, but that does not mean one should hate it and combat it viciously. Letting hatred into one's soul, no matter how justly despised the target of hatred may be, is a recipe for clouded judgement.
Or, to delve into George Lucas babblespeak, hate stems solely from the Dark Side of the Force.
I think we do have a lot of them on RADIO!
And .. they must be doing a good job because the dems are talking about revising the "fairness doctrine" which would basically shut them up.
