"Jim, I'm wondering if you're declaring here and now that, if Rudy Giuliani were to get the Republican nomination, you would either not vote or vote third party. Could you clarify that for me, please?"
Not speaking for Jim, but for myself. If it comes down to Rudy/Hillary I do so declare that I will vote 3rd party. And I would definitely being rooting for rooty to get his butt smacked from one side of the country to the other. Only then could the republicans regain their conservative roots and rebuild the damage he will have caused.
Any so-called conservative politician who doesn't show up in the primaries held by the party with the most conservative voters -- the Republican party -- doesn't deserve my vote in the general election running as a third party candidate.
I don't think Jim has made such a statement, which is a sign of wisdom. "Never say never" is a good saying to live by.
I suspect that while Jim has made his views on Rudy known, he is reserving the right to re-evaluate the situation IF Rudy is nominated - as will all the other Freepers currently coming out against Rudy.
Best not to say "never" and then have to eat those words. (Been there, done that!)
For the record, I will vote for WHOEVER the GOP nominates against Hitlary because she MUST be defeated.
At least you gave a direct answer. Thank you.
See post # 340.
I am well aware of what FR stands for, and I concur with that. The problem is there is a disagreement on what "standing for" something means.
Does it mean working hard in the primaries to nominate a suitable candidate, and if that fails, handing the election to the Rats on a silver platter?
Or does it mean working hard in the primaries to nominate a suitable candidate, and if that fails, continuing to work together to defeat the Rat Machine and all it entails?
