It was reported on and posted on FR that 50% of the iraqs
did not/have not "showed-up" for the "surge",,,
Same thing last week in Mahmudiyh!!
"Task Force 2/15Arty" and iraqs went on a raid,,,
to start with,the iraqs were late,,,then they would not
do the "job",,go through the door,,,The GI's had to go in by themselves!! My house-mate's Kid is in that unit !!
His second tour,,,told me last time I saw him that the
iraq army is about the same as ARVN...Worthless !!(his words)

There are obviously differing opinions on that. I have heard from many in theatre that the Iraqi Army is improving rapidly, and none of them would attribute the word 'worthless' to them.

The task of making an army out of nothing in short order is enormous, and relative to the amount of time, and the severity of the task, I'd say that they are doing rather well.

I'm sure there are different perspectives within the military, but having read of the accomplishments of the Iraqi Army in recent weeks, the word 'worthless' is flat out wrong.
