Limp-wristed linguini-spine RINO alert. What a bunch of flaggots.
Alas, the MSM has a great deal of influence over many Republicans, and many FReepers.
I don't want rain all over you little fantasy, but Ann didn't "call Edwards a faggot".
YOU did, because you wanted it to be true.
Agreed. To my astonishment.
Oh, I don't know. Maybe because some of them are decent, serious, trustworthy adults who recognize that it's a very dangerous world out there & that stooping down to the other side's gutter level is hypocritical & utterly self-defeating to the cause of advancing conservatism?
Evidently some conservatives would rather be flaming knee-jerking hypocrites, tarnish the conservative message with their shrill, childish namecalling & lose elections just so they can poke fun at "homos", "wetbacks" & "ragheads" like a pack of crass, adolescent hyenas.
What are you smoking?.. You're tripping...
But that's not to say what Ann said was not inappropriate. The word "faggot" can be used for humor in a completely absurd context. But otherwise, it stings a lot, and should not be used in my opinion. "Faggot" = a log of firewood. The word implies the life of a homosexual is discardable. Ann didn't mean it that way; nonetheless it was a poor decision to use the word in my opinion. I liked her comeback, though -- she wouldn't want to demean faggots by comparing them to Edwards!
That's where we part company then, I see nothing wrong with it. If nothing else, she showed the leftist and rinos for what they are, dirty, stinking double standard hypocrites. I don't hear leftist and rinos screaming for the head of Bill Maher(spel?) and he's spouting BS about being sad that Cheney wasn't assassinated? Where's the 10 thousand threads condemning that? Where's the 10 thousand newspaper articles calling for his destruction?
PC is gonna kill this country. The thought police are lining up.
Go Ann!
I'm more annoyed that Coulter felt the need to make this joke at an event that was important to all conservatives, thereby making it seem like CPAC endorsed what she said. Had she said it in a column or TV appearance, it wouldn't have done this. Its like calling someone a faggot at my sister's wedding.
"a know - Ann didn't call anyone a fagot. She said something to effect to the effect of "I'd like to talk about Edwards, but using the word fagot means you have to into rehab...""
Um, ok. So why would she not want to talk about Edwards because she cant use the word "faggot"? Why cant she no longer talk about him because she cant use that word?
Sign me up for the "hyenas." I'm tired of cowards who woulld rather run than face up to the people that use (successfully) terms like "racism" or "homophobia" as their blunt instruments. They Democrats are not going to stop, and if you don't take the battle to them and fight them with their own weapons, you'll lose.
"I do not want a Republican candidate who will pander to the PERVERTS... "
So not calling someone a faggot means they are pandering to perverts?
So Reagan pandered to perverts? For some reason I dont recall him calling anyone a faggot.
She said of the top tier candidates, i.e., those most likely to be nominated, she preferred Romney. She went on to say that she liked Tancredo and Hunter better, but as of now, they are not among the top candidates.
You worked in the White House?
ROTFLMFAO! That's rich. And we all know rudy is the epitome of conservative. lol
Ann must be a very powerful person. Imagine, three men running for the Rep nomination for President feel compelled to acknowledge and denounce the remarks of a private citizen who is not a GOP or government official. Do they do the same thing when Bill Maher, Michael Moore, Al Franken, et. al. say something derrogatory about Bush or other Reps?
And we'll beat them by... lobbing thoroughly witless third-grade level insults at them from a stage? Right. What did I miss here? When did the party of Ronald Reagan become the party of Don Rickles?
I would hope that she would pop off with "Oh yeah, well your Momma is so white she couldn't be rescued in a snowstorm."
So much for the concept of 'playing the dozens' these days.
