Rudy's Reception (at CPAC)

McCain-hating and Romney-bashing have been pretty much equal-opportunity pastimes around CPAC this year.
Rudy, on the other hand, has gotten mostly a free pass. And, today, his speech was filled to capacity with folks waiting in the hallway to get in. There were also dense crowds around all the TVs in the exhibit halls. The charm offensive is strong, indeed. People just love listening to him.
I took some video of conservatives quite mesmerized by the Mayor, so I'm working on getting that up. They were doing crowd control outside the hall in which he was speaking. Many of those folks crowding the hall are pro-life, social conservatives who just can't resist him, despite the policy differences. I don't think Rudy will remain unattacked, as he was this week, but the feel-good factor is big for him, no matter what kind of conservative he's talking to.
Today, he talked about leadership, security, toughness, and Reagan to a crowd who's looking for a leader in the image of Reagan in a time that needs security. It was a good pitch, and there were more people listening than have listened to anything at CPAC this week.

I think some posters are hell bent on tearing FR completely apart until it will not be worth nothing more than a place to spread ideals previously approved by a designated commissar.
That would suit those so called open minded San France-cisco liberals just fine.
The verbal discourse lately has me wondering about many posters who I have respected in the past.
It is one thing to tell about and try to sell an ideal but is is another to use high pressure tactics that would turn off a used car manager in Tijuana.
I support Duncan Hunter and will as I have supported him for congress.
I can not imagine that he would condone some of these comments made about other candidates.
Evidently the dust up between Hellary and Obama did not sink in to some.

No service. None. Zip. Nada.
He is an authoritarian and corrupt liberal. BTW, regards point "C" - the reason he was 'almost killed' is because of his enormously stupid decision to place the City CP inside of a major target. Dumb. He avoids real risk and is a poseur. Never does he get my vote.
Google Kerik. Look at Rooty's endorsements and appointments. He has a record. It is a left-wing liberal record.

I truthfully, know nothing about what CPAC is. If they support a man who is for
1) abortion
2) weakening the 2nd amendment
3) gay marriage
4) gay military
5) embrionic stem cell testing
6) amensty for illegal aliens
then I too would call them liberal. If the above list is what the Republican leadership wants, then I don't believe the same things as the Republican party any more.
Sincerely

Narses, I have one question. If Rudy is the GOP nominee will you support him or vote Democrat (or stay home, which is about the same thing)?

He got a special deferment. When nothing else would work, as the war ran down and when his number was like 300, he stopped asking for deferments. To quote from his own internal assesment of the issue:
Giuliani received special treatment from a friendly federal judge to avoid military service during the Vietnam war, when thousands of less fortunate people were dying, they wrote. Then, as a member of the Justice Department, he hypocritically prosecuted draft dodgers.
Sorry, let's find a conservative and support them. Liberals make me ill.

Some information for you about CPAC:
http://www.conservative.org/about/default.asp
The American Conservative Union is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots conservative lobbying organization.
CPAC
Since 1974, ACU has hosted the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, where thousands of conservative activists and leaders from across the country join together for a three-day event to discuss current issues and policies and to set the agenda for the future of the conservative movement.

So, you'll tacitly support the election of President Hillary.
I feel bad for our soldiers in the field.
Have a good evening.

OK, so he does things you don't like.
If Duncan does not get the nomination then I will vote for who ever the majority of Republicans choose.
I will not willing lay down and hand this great country to the likes of any current Democrat running for office.

"If Rudy is the GOP nominee, I will vote for a conservative third party candidate."
In other words YOU WILL SUPPORT HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT.
Thanks for confirming it for us.
The third party voters gave us 8 years of Bill Clinton and are about to give us 8 years of Hillary Clinton.

Nominate a liberal and I will vote for a conservative. Period. A GOP that puts up liberals is a party without me.

I'm sorry, but where did I say I support Rudy? I only said I believe Rudy Giuliani is a patriot and A fine man that deserves my respect of his personal accomplishments.. I don't believe I said anything negative about those who don't share my views of Rudy's character.. The person that I was referencing has continued to slander this fine man without a debate, only a scurrilous barrage of hyperbole...
