I wonder if George Washington, Thomas Jefferson or Benjamin Franklin would have a chance today with the Christian right? Personally, I'm looking for a patriot not a saint.
If I wanted to, I could make all kinds of arguments against all of those FFs, as well as all of the rest of the FFs.
And if anyone wants to know just HOW dirty, all of them played politics, Jefferson being THE worst of the lot, there are a few books about just that, which I will happily recommend.
