Nannystating in the name of God isn't conservatism, yet many Freepers seem to have fallen under the mistaken impression that it is. We've had a guy in office for the past seven years who pandered to the nannystating crowd and still gave us the largest expansion of government power and the biggest spending since the 1960s, as well as one of the most incompetently run wars in our country's history.
People will vote for Rudy (or Romney) because they want someone who can win the WOT. Let me put it this way: I would have voted for FDR because he was a leader during the most crucial period of the 20th century. Same thing with JFK. I think Rudy fits that mold. People around here need to get their heads out of the sand (or out of their derriers) and realize that their pet issues are way down on the list of most peoples' concerns right now.

You think Constituional Rights are "pet issues"???
What good is winning a war on terror if we have nothing left to show for it?

I'm sorry, but I just don't follow that logic! What are either of those two going to do that would be different than, say, Duncan Hunter or Newt Gingrich? What are their unique qualifications?
I do agree that if we elect giulianni or romney we would have another fdr and jfk.
