Judging by what I've seen around FR, as well as a hysterical reply to a post I just got in my inbox, I think some people are willing to jump on the Rudy bandwagon just because they hear he's the most 'electable' and they want to win at all costs, and believe Rudy is the only way-- of course, it's absurd to think that this election is carved in stone 18 months out, or that any one candidate is the magic bullet and you have to support them RIGHT NOW. It will be a long campaign season, people will join the race, people will leave it, and public opinion will change as they get to know these name-recognition candidates better. Remember, HOWARD DEAN was the Democrat front-runner, too...and didn't make a worthwhile showing to get their nomination. That kind of thing happens all the time.

Here in Nevada many "conservatives" voted for Harry Reid because "he's our bastard". Yup win at any cost. Harry's will not even come on local talk radio in Reno, ALL of his town halls are to sympathetic audiences in Southern Nevada and to top it off Nevada is 49 or 50th in returned Federal dollars. Big lesson for all who want to win at any cost.

You're correct. I'd like to add that people are forgetting about the MSM. They're building Giuliani up and reinforcing his golden pedestal so they can shred him after the primaries. They're hoping conservatives will ignore Rudy's liberal tendencies until *after* he's given the GOP torch.

I will not vote for Rudy, but I'm not going to trash him. The MSM will, all in good time. I'd bank my 401(k) on it.
