Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a possible candidate for the White House in 2008, is drawing support from an unlikely source liberal former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Speaking at a political gathering at Cooper Union in New York, Cuomo turned to Gingrich and said: "If I can pause and be erratically independent of my text, I think you would make a great candidate for president on the Republican side. I really do.
Nevertheless, the two disagreed on virtually everything that was discussed at the gathering, including North Korea, Iran, Iraq, health care and Social Security.
Gingrich, architect of the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994, has been cited as a GOP presidential candidate who could garner strong support among conservatives and "take advantage of the fact that Mayor Giuliani and Senator McCain lean to the left on some social issues, the New York Sun reports.

Huh? Does this mean he thinks Giuliani is unstoppable otherwise? You know he doesn't think the Nation needs Newt.
He must be worried about Rudy.
It's possible, having shared the stage with Newt, that he simply expressed a compliment about Newt's oratorical skill, (which is impressive).

Cuomo gets it right on a few things .... not many. Kudos for the Newt & Cuomo Show!
Too many of those people vote and are swayed by invalid preconceptions...
