That was exactly my point, that she was obviously inspired by that actor (Isiah Washington?)who is not exactly my idea of a "pundit" , even in TV terms. There are many things one could say about John Edwards, without "maligning" him by calling him a faggot, which I guess is only "acceptable" because everyone knows he's NOT.
My wife is built like Ann. She eats 12 meals a day. Some peoples metabolism just happens to be that way. Her whole paternal side of the family is the same way.
And what a nice fit that there are people, such as myself, who find woman, like my wife and Ann, very attractive.
Any men in Ann's life right now? Or is she still seeing Matt Drudge?
It was in relation to all of the uproar over celebrities calling others "faggots" and then checking into rehab. In that context, it was hilarious.
Some folks are just jealous. I look at a glass of water and gain 5 pounds. She's pretty....strike one. She's smart.....strike two. She's not afraid to speak her mind.....strike three. And most of the time..... SHE'S RIGHT!

Tell us again how outraged you are at Coulter's joke.
She steadily gone from fresh, insightful, humorous and talented to the fringe since 9/11.
Culturally, that's ancient history. Ann's losing her grip on reality.
He didn't have to go to rehab. It was a lame cop-out. It's a faux face-saving attempt because he'd been a problem on set which came to a head over the T.R. Knightly(?) epithet. In Hollywood hierarchy of offensiveness, I wonder if the offending actor would've been kept if he had used the "N-word." I don't see anyone hiring Michael Richards.
And "fag" is also an old fashioned Brit slang term for a cigarette.
But how does this benefit society as a whole? Sure it makes you feel better but it degrades political debate and makes (small-d) democratic governance that much more difficult.
If her "joke" had involved Barack Obama and the "n-word" would you still feel this was appropiate for a speech at a conservative forum?

Then PLEASE don't bother. Go find a "moderate" party you won't have to defend. I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms.
Ann Coulter's problem is that she brings a sledge hammer to the party when subtle wit will do the trick much more effectively.
I enjoy Ann and un-pc humor and invective. I personally think she comes off better in print than in person, but I enjoy her either way.
Democrats approve of any slur toward Christians, Jews, or Republicans. They are in favor of any foul language in print, in public, or on TV, and they constantly wave the First Amendment in our faces to justify it all...UNLESS...that same language is used in reference to one of their approved minorities (mainly Liberal Blacks or poor Blacks)or one of their pet aberrations (fags). Oh yeah, they love Muslims, too.

I think she got lazy. She could've made the point in a much more colorful and effective way. Now we have to listen to knuckleheads on both sides, as they shriek like faggots about the "outrageous" comments. Nobody won, and generally, though I agree with the above post (Political correctness is the enemy. Show contempt for it every chance you get) Ms Coulter is much smarter than this, IMHO.
Also, just a request, can we retire "jump the shark" to the waste basket of Hannityisms/hackneyed terms, along with vitriol, strawman, gravitas, schadenfreude, etc.?
If you've ever been to DU (see my tagline), they pour out stuff that ought to get them visited by the Secret Service.
Bad manners is part of the problem we should be trying to remedy rather than encourage.
She actually does not know whether Edwards is a homosexual. All she knows is her own need to feed her image as an iconoclast and the needs of those who only feel whole when they are demeaning others for real or imaginary sins.
Can you imagine President Ronald Reagan making a similar public statement? That should be the test for cheap shots.
