Great work boats!
One of the best trophies we won out of this was the realization by both current and soon to be of age voters just how partisan the attack on us was.
100% of the sponsors of both house and senate versions of the bill were democrats and all but one senator who voted pro during comittee were democrats as well.
There are plenty of moonbats in the ORV world - they grew up reading and watching the same slanted version of reality their moonbat parents grew up with, so it's no surprise.
I was posting alot on a site I rarely frequent, Thumper Talk, among others, so was being careful not to be devisive. But when one fellow gave his 2nd rambling message comparing the lunacy of Senator Kline to the "voter manipulation" of Karl Rove, how this is all our fault, we just need to suck it up....typical liberal self loathing BS, I used the opportunity to correct his misunderestimations.
It worked, I got nominated for president (really!) lol, and the only one it disenfranchised was himself.
The fact is this bill was not about noise - the lib's willingness to let the bill die rather than pass it with just imposing the 96db limit, which is 1/2 as loud as the current 105db we have now, and perfectly acceptable to the ORV community, proved that.
Fraser, Kline, et al didn't care about noise. All they cared about was was section 4, which took law enforcement away from the law and gave it to trial attorneys.
Though there were numerous egregious and unprecedented punitive sections in this bill, section 4 guaranteed that anyone who brought a lawsuit against any ORV operator for any infraction whatsoever, real or imagined, would recoup their atttorney fees and costs, no matter the outcome, no matter the costs.
This bill was all about payback for the trial lawyers association and the Sierra club, who would be free to sue us out of existance on imaginary and frivilous complaints.
This bill would have ended the sport in this state, period.
Instead, the dems got exposed for the malicious, manipulative, arrogant jerks they really are, and in front of all these kids the've been trying to cultivate.
This makes for a win in alot more ways than just our sport.
