Just making a QUICK pass through. The state and national conventions are too far off for me to want to deliberately expose myself to this kind of stuff.
To: mariabush
Actually, that's not entirely correct. I believe Fred voted "not guilty" as to the perjury charge, but voted "guilty" to the obstruction of justice charge.

He is middle of the road on immigration. No info on how he feels about the McCain/Kennedy bill. However, he supported McCain in 2000 and voted for CFR. When he was chair of the Government Reform Committe he went after democrats on campaign abuses, especially on Chinagate.
He has been consistently conservative on social policy and his help in getting John Roberts confirmed as Chief Justice to the Supreme Court was critical. Thompson has a record in the Senate of course and he voted conservative, according to the American Conservative Union, eighty-six percent of the time.

Fred was on the wrong side of impeachment, I think. That being said, he has always impressed me as a thoughtful man. I would consider him...right now I'm leaning but not fully committed by any mean to Mitt Romney.
I don't know if he is electable, though. He is a good actor.

"Fred, Mort, and Charles on FOX News Roundtable agree with each other....Fred Thompson will not be running for president."
They are clueless. Fred and Mort are joined at the hips idiots. Charles is very intelligent, but none have a clue about the 'people'!

Yea, he has no experience. /s
We have been complaining here about all of the dang RINO's and we have a hint of something that is electable (a Hunter that is recognizable). If he is in, this IS the candidate that we have been dreaming of.

Got you. I knew what you meant.
I think it would be kind of fun if Grammer ran for the Senate.

We've only run two governors since 1952. I have no idea before that.

I was thrilled when I saw the headline, have read most of the replies, and am even more thrilled.
His candidacy would be enough for me to wade back into politics with both feet!
I've been so apathetic it's hard to describe.
I like Rudy, but can't envision myself manning the phones for him. I would for Thompson.

This guys got both star power and conservative bonafides. Can you imagine a debate between him and the Hildebeast? He would publicly eviscerate her and still come out looking like the good guy.
