I have heard he's a bit moderate on social issues, but Fred's far and away better on his worst day than Giuliani on his best day in that regard IMHO.

No thanks!! He left the shop!! But, one good thing, at least he won't be on Law and Order anymore. I don't think he was that good.

Good heavens, is it possible that Fred could bring FR together? No more bickering? I guess we'd have to see how his poll numbers shake out. Can he beat Hillary? /s

Thompson certainly has a good TV persona and would put forward the conservative platform well. I just wonder if he would want to take the pay cut of being president.

Somebody, please help me understand what the fascination is with Fred Thompson?
Because he's an actor? Because he played a Navy admiral in a movie? Because he has a deep, manly voice?
Unlike RR, he's never been the governor of a large, populous state. He's never been the governor of anything.
I'm from Tennessee. I voted for him for Senator.
While he was in the Senate, he was a dutiful McCain clone. In fact, I wrote him a letter begging him not to support CFR. To his credit, he wrote me back, and actually responded honestly to my letter ... however, his response parroted the McCain CFR line 100%.
What is the attraction?

I wonder how he is on border issues? If he's at least close to Hunter on border issues I'll switch to being a Thompson guy faster than Bill Clinton can unzip his fly.
