"We're going to have to take one step at a time, and the first step is necessarily -- given the political realities -- going to be very modest ...
So then we'll have to start working again to strengthen the law, and then again to strengthen the next law, and maybe again and again. Right now, though, we'd be satisfied not with half a loaf but with a slice. Our ultimate goal -- total control of handguns in the United States -- is going to take time ....
The first problem is to slow down the increasing number of guns being produced and sold in this country.
The second problem is to get handguns registered.
And the final problem is to make the possession of *all* handguns and *all* handgun ammunition -- except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors -- totally illegal." --
Pete Shields, Chairman Emeritus, Handgun Control, Inc. ( "The New Yorker", July 26, 1976 )

should have a BARF ALERT attached....
.....what these a-hole liberal gun grabbers still dont get is you arrest and incarcerate perps and give them extra time for using a gun in the commission of a crime...then the problem, for the most part goes away....

Requiring a permit to buy bullets, just as the state does for firearms, is a "no-brainer," he said. Or time to go fire one :-) But kidding aside, stocking up isn't the way to go. bombarding politicians telling them you think this idea is moronic and anyone who supports it should have a career doling out fries rather than in government office is the way to go.

By suggesting a need for bullet permits aren't they accidentally admitting that gun permits are not effective in keeping guns out of the hands of criminals? And if gun permits are not effective what makes them think bullet permits would be?

"We will be happy to defeat this bill and any legislator who supports it."Want be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief? This is the ONLY solution to long term whims of the elitists who will keep this issue alive. Simply vote anybody who supports the bill out of office with decisive margins!!! That's the ONLY power that the politicians respect: The power of the VOTE.

"It's a wonder we have not identified this loophole in the past," Whitley told council members
This guy is patting himself on the back for being stupid.
This has been tried before, it comes up every year somewhere.
The only surprise is that he hadnt ever heard of it before.
He is a moron.
