"How? Might I remind you that there isn't one brand of conservatism, or "My conservatism is better than your conservatism". I've never believed conservatism to be monolithic.
You believe what you want to believe, defend what you believe, persuade others to join your fight, and conservatism wins every time it's tried.
Anyone who adopts the "My conservatism is better than yours" mentality will always lose and remain pessimistic of the world around them."
I think that Jim Robinson has spent a lot of time explaining this already. Have you been reading any of his posts at all? I take it you don't agree with JR on his so called "brand of conservatism", no?
You say that there isn't one brand of conservatism that's better than the another, you are right. The conservative values that we conservatives have are all just fine, it's the liberals who come on here and pretend that their liberal views are conservative views e.g. Rudybots. That's where all the confusion is. Rudy supporters, most of them anyway, think that Rudy is a conservative inside and out, unfortunately for them, his record says otherwise.
Now, if you happen to be one of those people who support Rudy, that's fine, but please don't insult conservatives here by telling us that he IS a conservative when he IS INDEED NOT a conservative. Thankfully, nearly 65% of the people on this forum are smart enough to figure that out.
For those who have not yet figured it out, well, just keep reading the articles about Rudy's record and maybe in time the light will shine through. I hope it does, because I'm afraid that one or two years down the road some people here are gonna come back and complain about how disgusted they are with Rudy's liberal policies (assuming he wins). No one can come back to FR later on and say, "I didn't have a clue". Fair warning has been given.

I think that Jim Robinson has spent a lot of time explaining this already.Indeed, and Jim has also stated many times that we're all conservatives here.

Thankfully, nearly 65% of the people on this forum are smart enough to figure that out. Rudy is a liberal. A flaming liberal on the social issues and on fiscal matters, he's another big government Republican. Just like Dubya Bush has been for most the last six years!
I say, if you support Rudy you're betraying conservatism, and thereby advancing liberalism. If that is your objective, fine. Don't think it fools anyone, cause it doesn't. nIN the end, you vote for a liberal and you'll get whats coming you you.
