What I can't figure out is the low participation in Free Republic polls. I read that the membership here is something like 200,000...is this true? And yet about 5,000 vote in the polls frequently posted.

About 10,000 probably regularly read this site, and half those choose to vote in the FR polls.

Very few people ever vote in FR's polls.

And the ones you see with 5,000 votes, INCLUDE members and nonmembers, over months and months of being up.

Yes, supposedly FR has a membership of something OVER 200,000.

Not so. The simi-active level is probably around 70,000, but the active level is more like 10,000
