With 71 of 75 precincts reporting, Giuliani had garnered 123 votes. California Rep. Duncan Hunter was running in second place, with 110 votes, and Arizona Sen. John McCain at 86 votes, according to county GOP officials.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney had 59 votes, Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback had 68 votes and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee rounded out the front-runners, with 18 votes.

Haven't you been reading the thread? Rudy spent very little time here and virtually no money.
Hunter's people have been camped in SC and they've spent a lot.
That Hunter can't do better in the Bible Belt as the leading staunch social conservative speaks volumes.
Uh, he asked him to provide proof of the birth control statement, not the ground support.
It's not, far from it, what is important to me above all others is winning.
Patton Movie 1970
Patton: Men, all this stuff you've heard about America not wanting to fight - wanting to stay out of the war, is a lot of horse dung. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids, you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball players, the toughest boxers. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and never will lose a war, because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.
What the hell are you so ANGRY about?
I love the smell of moving goal posts in the morning.
WOOHOO!!!!
The charge is BS frankly. There are a lot of BS charges made about all of the GOP candidates. But none of that matters, really. I'm easy. The candidates will make their case, the voters will listen, and the junk posted on FR won't mean a damn thing. It is all masturbatory.
Oh geez, nevermind...I just figured it out. I am getting slow in my old age! :-)

It speaks very little.
Hey you. What do you think of Rick joining up with FOX. Was so glad to hear that.

Hey we were told that Rudy had no chance in SC. He won. That tells me that that so-called *true* conservative here don't know what they are talking about.
Bill's too nice of a guy for politics, imo.
It would have been interesting if his winning in 2002 would have forestalled the leap to the left the current Gub is so intent on leading..
and as to Ted Olson and Barbara, that's going way out of bounds .. Ted can handle himself and speak back to attacks, not so with Barbara..
I'd vote for anyone in the primaries against McCain.. I don't hate the man like many here, but I don't trust him at all...I never know where he is going to stand....he has the money, but like Hillary, he is an old brand name that is going to get creamed....
Hmm...First it was 71 out 75 precints reporting...then 90 minutes later it was 80 out of 95 reporting???? And the results from the 71 out 75 precints were reported live on Hannity & Colmes! LOL! I wonder how many precints are there for this "straw" poll.
First there was to be 2000 votes casted, then there was 470 votes casted, and now it is 560 votes casted???
It's a dirty trick, but heh, all is fair in love, war, and politics! LOL!
I answered your question, even though you impolitely responded to my question with a question. Is there some reason you don't want to answer?
"You have been very gracious tonight with respect to the Hunter showing, and that is certainly my sense of how a substantial front-runner's supporter ought to approach things. Thank you.
With respect to the amount of money and time spent by the contestants, I think it's fair to state that no amount of money at this stage of the campaign could realistically be expected to overcome Giuliani's household name status. For me, as others have noted, the McCain showing is the story of the night-- he is, IMHO, facing serious trouble. He too has a trademark name, and I'm wondering if Hunter might have taken some of McCain's thunder tonight. But it's so early."
I agree with this! Both the Peach being very gracious and the other commentary.
It depends on how you define 'conception'.
My understanding is that birth control pills affect a fertilized egg, and don't allow it to attack its self to the wall of the uterus, effectively ending the possibility of it growing. That can happen naturally, but birth control pills make it far, far more likely to happen.
It basically comes down to, do you count 'conception' as an egg meeting sperm, or do you count it as starting to grow inside it's mother?
