I think Duncan can go all the way. He has the time to gather the right team before the primaries. He's real and he's running against phonies -- that wins elections. His policies are on target with middle america, and his strong stance & military bearing are the types of things average voters appreciate in a president.
Duncan ran a $530BILLION budget, much bigger than anything Rudy ran as a mayor. He has been rubbing elbows with some big money people that make some of the others in the race look cheap in comparison, and he has grassroots support along the same par as Dean.
The more you get to know him, the more you like what you see; it's just the opposite with Rudy.
Yeah, I guess my key word was they don't give a "real" answer. When you specifically bring up Giuliani's stances on so many issues, they just ignore that and make accusations and claim that such issues don't matter. It's all the art of dodging the question to me.
The Fear Hillary! card is rapidly losing its value. Her lead has been cut by 18 points in a month's time.
The "serious commentators" are all MSM shills. Think about it: how much campaign money will it take to distribute that YouTube link to 100,000,000 people? It's a new world.
If Hunter gets to 10% before June he's got a damned good chance to get nominated. Once he's nominated, he's got just as much media as any other Republican would get. IMO the message will resonate, particularly after the Democrats have betrayed everything they promised to get their current majority.
Because no serious political commentator thinks Hunter has a chance.
***That's what they were saying about Kerry in 2004. Dean's numbers were much higher than his. It's still early in the primary season.
I hope your right. In the meantime, up until the primaries themselves (and hopefully afterwards), I'll continue to be a staunch Duncan supporter.
Hunter '08!
>> Sean Hannity is really trying to sell Rudy.
It's a NY thing.
Bah! 'Tis mere pocketchange!
My guess is that the advantages of having him as president are worth far more than $100 to any of us, in taxes alone to say nothing of the economic disadvantages leftists and RINOs have cost us. That's what needs to be repeated often.
It won't just be a question of "holding my nose" when I pull the lever. I'll have to take an extra pair of underwear in there I'll be so scared.
Oh, boy. I swore yesterday I'd hide out in Chat for the next few months, can't believe I clicked this on. I'm gonna have nightmares again tonight.
"It's from so long ago" or "It's out of context".
Come on, it's ok to run on that platform as long as you promise to appoint strict constitutional judges. Didn't you get the memo? Rudy's really a conservative. Of course the pepople who say this have no trouble sleeping at night after casting their vote.
For years I had a feeling that Sean was disingenuous. Now it's been confirmed.
Have you emailed information to every conservative you know? I have. Have you emailed that YouTube link to your local GOP leadership? I have. Have you donated to his campaign? I have, and will do more.
This is grass roots activism. Don't go looking around wondering who's going to get it done; it's up to you. That video was worth a $10,000 ad buy if we use it correctly.
"We do not need to panic or worry or fret. We simply need to flesh out all of these candidates."
I don't want to be the doomsayer- really I don't. But I am a pragmatist and a realist. And there really ISN'T a lot of time in the context of this election cycle in particular.
Why? Because now we've got something like 20 states, including California and New York and Illinois having primaries in early February. Do you know how much money it takes to run competitively in those huge early races? And the big 3 of Rudy, McCain and Romney are already picking up the big donors.
In the old days, maybe a Duncan Hunter could make a splash in the Iowa or New Hampshire primaries and then get a big fundraising boost. But this year it will be too late. The primary is going to be decided on Super Tuesday very soon after the early primaries. You've got to raise the money much earlier this election, and there's no way a Duncan Hunter can create the buzz he needs. No way that I can envision anyway. I honestly don't ever recall seeing the guy talk on tv- the media ignores him. I wouldn't know his voice if I heard it.
So Hunter may be the best candidate in the world, but he's not going to be able to raise the money to truly compete on Super Tuesday.
Is that anything like cross-dressing?
