I'll bet he was the teacher's union's local representative.
According to the story linked in post 100, a panel of teachers recommended against promoting him to principal, but the school board went against the recommendation.
There was plenty of warning that this guy was big trouble.
It's also surprising that he was openly gay. Usually, these types of screwups are closet cases -- devoted family man by day, cruising mall bathrooms by night.
I just hope he didn't abuse any students.
