Nitschmann Middle School Principal John Acerra was charged with multiple drug-related felonies after police said he made the last of a series of drug sales in his office 6 p.m. Tuesday.
A source with knowledge of the investigation said Acerra was naked and watching pornography when officers took him into custody. Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin would not confirm that detail.
They found Acerra sitting with a clear, plastic bag of the drug on his desk, authorities said. Next to the drugs were a glass tube with meth residue and burn marks, and the money that had been given to the informant, according to court records.
Acerra is charged with three counts each of possessing crystal meth and possession with intent to deliver crystal meth, two counts of delivering crystal meth and one count of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.

Looks a bit young to be a principal.
Considering that he was "in charge" of kids he should be locked up for a very, very long time.
OOps, I forgot that schools are not responsible for keeping the kids safe--even when they are the ones causing the harm.

Yeah but how many are there nationwide? A lot. I bet the rates of this sort of charges are far lower for principles than for most professions. Any incident involving a principle becomes national news though while anything involving a stock broker, garbage man, gas station clerk, small bussinessman, or divorce lawyer only makes the metro pages.

You could cherry-pick a crazed homeschooler and make news, but doesn't fit the agenda....

And they brought grief counselors into the school to "help" the kids deal with this.

Only public schools would tolerate that kind of irresponsibility. In the private sector, you'd be out on your can. How right you are!
To: Nextrush
And it mentions that the kids in his school were told not to talk about it. Public schools want to keep this crap under the rug like crazy. Can you imagine what school children must think about this? At the same time they're going through the Dare Program with the local police.

If my child wanted to talk about this jerk I would have no problem with it. Aren't they going to bring in the counselors to help the children deal with this? I would like to see police officers, as well as counselors, talk to these children to explain the consequences of selling and doing drugs.
To: metmom
The only thing that gives me any satisfation about the *don't talk* order, is that not only are people not going to listen anyway, it's only going to cause more talking as people are disgusted with the gag order. There will be letters-to-the editor tomorrow in this paper...
To: Dr. Scarpetta
I think that would be a wonderful idea.

Government schools are corrupt and incompetent.

Over the past five years, the times he arrived hours late for school, missed school altogether, kept himself hidden behind the frequently locked office door or showed up at school activities dressed like a teenager all pointed to a life in free-fall, said Dolan, who is also a Bethlehem councilwoman." So obviously teachers knew, or had a very good idea, of what was going on FOR FIVE YEARS!!
So who covered it up? The union, school board or administration?

Well, at least he wasn't having sex with his students. Or maybe that will break, later.
