Believe me this case is a mess. Most of this persons that were caught didn't even had a criminal record. There was this guy who was going to the CHP academy next month and then suddenly the DEA said he was in this INDICTMENT since more that 20 months age, when he was in Iraq from 2004 til 2006 fighting for our country. There was this other guy who could barely paid his rent and was a farm worker and from one day to another he became an expert in importing cocaine. THIS IS ALL BS. Most suspects residences were not even raid.WHY? because they didn't had enough evidence against them to get search warrants. Most of this suspects in south Cali would be out soon, most of them are innocent.
Now the DEA say's they have busted a big cartel thats a lie. Sure they busted a lot of money and drugs but they also caught 80% of innocent persons and not the leader. Why? because all this is a business for our country.

Welcome to FR.

If any are innocent as you suggest, and possibly some may be, their best hope is that they didn't have any of those drugs monies and guns that were confiscated in their possession. Otherwise, they'll have a hard time convincing a jury of their innocence.

OTH, if they were caught up in the sweep due to a criminal informant's testimony alone, nevermind, they're still toast. Since in the mind of many jurors, merely being implicated suggests a degree of guilt.
