Romney to Begin Giuliani Attack Campaign?
Race42008 ^ | 2/28/07

Bill Simon, Rudy Giuliani’s Director of Policy, has just appeared on Fox News’The Big Story with John Gibson” to discuss an alleged attack campaign that will perhaps begin shortly.

Romney’s plan is to attack Rudy on several fronts:

Team Romney will also insinuate that Giuliani will ruin the “GOP brand”.

In an age where every YouTube video is answered with another YouTube video, Mitt should pay heed to the old adage regarding those that live in glass houses.

Mitt probably has no choice at this point. Rudy currently has between a 20% to 40% lead on Romney depending upon which poll you believe. This, combined with Mitt’s very early foray into purchasing TV advertising, is likely an attempt to show some kind of progress before it’s too late.

Uncalled for and not appreciated. Say it if you must, but don't think it's looked upon fondly.

I was not being series. That is his only weakness as I can see it.

My theory is that everyone knows Rudy's position on social issues,

Cute, but wrong theory. Very few do know his slimey side, but when they do, they no longer support him.

McCain will self destruct. He is nuts. I heardhim on Imus. He was trying to be humorous and spontaneous but it fell flat.

He really does remind me of the Caine Muntiny.

"but once they see him on stage as a slob with a permanent scowl"

Pairing off against a metrosexual that makes John Edwards hairstylist look lazy & skeletor? You gotta be kidding me.

I think Rudy's people would love to have Mitt attack them, but he won't so they'll just come out and say he "plans" to do it, and when it doesn't happen they'll say they thwarted the plan by announcing it.

Gulliani can generate sympathy and a news story cycle without actually saying anything, and without having any evidence of their charge.

No viable candidate is going to say the name Hunter until Hunter can get his recognition up above 5%.

What about Mitt's cult? Will he announce a conversion to a legitimate form of Christianity?

Matt 7
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Normal part of political campaigning. Nothing new here.
At the end of the day, voters are going to decide on who can win the presidency for the Republican Party.

It's not a Giuliani site - Its for all candidates - check out the home page. It has all the candidates on it. It is actually what Bill Simon on Fox was saying.

William Edward Simon, Jr. (born June 20, 1951), best known as Bill Simon, is an American businessman and politician. Simon was born in Neptune, New Jersey, the son of William E. Simon, Sr., the 63rd Secretary of the Treasury under Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Coincidentally, Simon was a childhood friend of current Democratic party chair Howard Dean.

Simon earned a B.A. from Williams College in 1973, where he was admitted to the Zeta Psi fraternity, and a J.D. from Boston College in 1982. From 1986 to 1988, Simon served as Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, working under then-U.S. Attorney Rudolph Giuliani.

"What about Mitt's cult?"

From dictionary.com, the definition of "cult":

1. a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2. an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, esp. as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
3. the object of such devotion.
4. a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5. Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
6. a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
7. the members of such a religion or sect.
8. any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.
–adjective 9. of or pertaining to a cult.
10. of, for, or attracting a small group of devotees: a cult movie.

According to definitions 1-5, all Christian sects would qualify as cults, including my own. I don't see how mainstream Mormonism is any worse than most mainstream Christian sects, though I will agree with you that Mormonism isn't a form of Christianity.

The worst thing people can say about him is that's he's a flipflopper

No flips or flops at all: best.
Flip-flop: Not good, but people seem to be able to tolerate it.
Flip-flop-flip: Fish food.

per Dick Morris, paraphrased

I can see how you can make that mistake. Rudy's picture was on that page. When I first saw the site I thought it was a McCain site because I saw McCain's picture. No big deal! ;-)

Thanks for the clarification, but your last sentance is still way off. You mean YOUR from of Christianity.

Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Savior and my King. I don't need your endorsement to say it's ok for me to worhip my God!

These are probably in historical order. All religions could ONCE be called cults. The definition gets more and more connotative as it progresses. Don't feel guilty: you don't belong to a cult.
