Bill Simon, Rudy Giuliani’s Director of Policy, has just appeared on Fox News’ “The Big Story with John Gibson” to discuss an alleged attack campaign that will perhaps begin shortly.
Romney’s plan is to attack Rudy on several fronts:
Team Romney will also insinuate that Giuliani will ruin the “GOP brand”.
In an age where every YouTube video is answered with another YouTube video, Mitt should pay heed to the old adage regarding those that live in glass houses.
Mitt probably has no choice at this point. Rudy currently has between a 20% to 40% lead on Romney depending upon which poll you believe. This, combined with Mitt’s very early foray into purchasing TV advertising, is likely an attempt to show some kind of progress before it’s too late.
Let the mud slinging begin!
Pass the popcorn!
Let them eat eachother, eliminate mccain and then we'll get a real candidate!
((((((RUDY PING)))))
Rudy: "Romney, you're way too out there on social issues."
Alter Kaker: "You're both right."
The only problem with the mudslinging is that this makes McCain look like the angel and above the fray. Rommey should watch what he does.
Here-here! Clear the Repub top slate and find someone worth backing!
McCain is probably involved too.
"What about Mitt's cult? Will he announce a conversion to a legitimate form of Christianity?"
Uncalled for and not appreciated. Say it if you must, but don't think it's looked upon fondly.
Since Rudy is the actual practicing polygamist in this race , I think the issue is a non-starter between the two of them.
Romney shouldn't waste his time on Giuliani. He should focus on Hunter - the real deal.
Same Malone versus Skeletor. I'm game.
Should be fun to watch.
Romney's not as easy to attack as people think. The worst thing people can say about him is that's he's a flipflopper. Attacking his Mormonism will be repugnant to most Americans. Romney's personal life is squeaky clean, Romney has the looks, is quick on his feet, can connect with voters in a persuasive way, and knows how to play hardball.
As a Giuliani supporter, I worry the most about Romney. Sure, activists might say they're supporting Hunter, but once they see him on stage as a slob with a permanent scowl, they'll instinctively understand the guy can't hack it. The Churchie-looking Romney, who has been going out of his way to oppose things like stem-cell research, becomes the logical alternative.
I suspect the strategy with Giuliani will be-- hey, at least with me, what you see is what you get, and I can win. Romney will lose to Hillary, and where is stands on any particular day is anyone's guess.
It will be interesting. My theory is that everyone knows Rudy's position on social issues, his marriages, his ties to Bernie Kerik, and no one really cares. Most Republicans...indeed, most Americans...are predisposed to support Rudy. He has a lot of voters' good will, and they want to believe in him, and give him the benefit of the doubt. Normal smear campaign stuff will likely not stick, and could rebound to smack the flinger in the face.
One of the lightweights? LOL
Better than a heavyweight liberal!
