The Politics of Self-Pity (Kerry's wallowing in it)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | February 28, 2007 | James Taranto

Posted on 02/28/2007 2:18:15 PM PST by Zakeet

"A Senate hearing that began with glowing tributes to a St. Louis businessman and his qualifications to become ambassador to Belgium turned bitterly divisive Tuesday after he was criticized for supporting a controversial conservative group," the Associated Press reports from Washington:

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., grilled nominee Sam Fox about why he donated $50,000 to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth during the 2004 presidential race. . . . "Might I ask you what your opinion is with respect to the state of American politics as regards the politics of personal destruction?" Kerry asked near the end of the hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

[Snip]

This is the second time this week that "the politics of personal destruction" has come up; the first, as we noted Monday, was when Sen. Hillary Clinton, attempted to impose a rule that no one was to discuss the impeachment of her husband and the illicit sexual acts attendant to it.

[Snip]

Kerry no doubt genuinely feels the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth treated him unfairly. It's even possible that they did; 40 years after the fact, we certainly can't say for sure that their eyewitness accounts were true and Kerry's was false. He also seems to feel that this cost him the presidency, which he deserved.

But life is unfair, and you don't become president because you "deserve" to, but because the voters choose you. Maturity consists in significant part in the ability to accept loss and to rise above it. That Kerry is still wallowing in self-pity more than two years after the fact tells us something damning about his character.

I must admit that I pity poor old Lurch -- but not for the same reasons that Lurch pities Lurch.

This guy Fox may have money but has no balls.

When he was being attacked by JFnK why didn't he ask his highness whether he has signed form 180 to release his military records to the public?

to the pain John F'n Kerry

"to the pain" means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery, forever.

Kerry made his first public splash by slandering all servicemen who fought in Vietnam. That he still is angry about being "slandered" by some of them in '04 is some long overdue justice.

Lurch will never get over the fact that a group of people whom he considers his inferiors beat the pants off of him with the truth about what he'd done.
Lurch will snap and snipe at anyone even remotely associated with the swiftvets.
Sorry Lurch, we gotcha and there is nothing that can undoe it.

I have no pity for Lurch, not one Iota's worth.

He can sign his Form 180 if he feels he was lied about. Why didnt he. Oh he promised and then he gave a litle info and then he promised again , but we still havent seen it. Nor have we seen his discharge papers. The original ones. We know Jimmy carter many years after Kerry left the military signed a discharge for him, but we havent seen the original.

Now it isnt bad enough that Kerry could stop all this in its tracks with his F-180 if it makes him out to be the hero he claims to be, but every so often he starts whining agaion about the Swiftee's I guess to remind us what a sorry excuse for a military person he was, because thats what it dioes when he screams , It reminds us that he sucked, The Swiftees called him on it and he couldnt meet the challenge.

Now his record in Viet Nam, as sad as it was ,is only cake. The icing on this cake is that he worked with Jane fonda, Threw his unearned medals away and then went to France and had his own talks with the Communist Viet Namese.

We may as well make this Cake with Ice Cream on it . The Ice cream is that he and John Mccain went to Viet nam after the war to try to find bodies of MIA's to try to find if any MIA's were still being held captive by the Vietnamese.
The we find that he destroyed all evidence of any living US soldiers and he got a lucrative deal for his cousin, and he and Mccain came home with a trade deal and no MIA's no bodies, No nothing of which he went over for.

John Kerry should be in a Federal prison for treason, not in the Senate, Instead he is living like a King off Theresa's money, in 5 houses with a private plane and driving a huge yacht, and traveling in SUV's while sitting on the Hill screaming for us to cut and run and let his terroprist friend win in Iraq.

Right. We can't, but 20 or so of his fellow officers can. When it comes down to it, Kerry is the odd man out with his version of those era's stories. All of the rest (minus one or two deceased) of the decorated Swifties say he was a weenie, a whimp and worse.

I wonder how many times he did that for the news camera. If his medal throwing is anything like his football throwing, I doubt they were able to do in in one take.

He still has his panties in a wad over it was the truth and the truth hurts. He was a backstabbing, traitorous, communist sympathisizing anti-war scumbag and he knows it. The Swiftboat Vets didn't lose him the election. His past and his constant waffling positions on key issues did. And that witch of a wife of his didn't help his cause much either.

So tuck your tail between your legs you scumbag and STFU. You lost and your comments of late about our military and the war will assure your nest stays well lined with $hit when it comes to running for the country's top office.

Because, of course, John Francois, I remember your complete and utter denouncement of Daily Kos and Moveon.org's comparison of a sitting President of the United States to one of the most genocidal maniacs in history.

It was seared, SEARED into my memory.

Probably one take - he's a pro. After his acting career in VN and starring in his own film documentary about what a hero he was storming about in the elephant grass shot with his own movie camera, he's had plenty of practice. Plus, he threw other people's medals - his own hang on his office walls today (proudly - according to the horse faced idiot).

The SBV for Truth treated him unfairly ... it's even possible they did???

Only in Lurches mind ... he was finally called on his bogus medal count. Two band-aid Purple Hearts and a Silver Star he put himself up for ... Kerry finally got what he deserved.

Schadenfreude!

Old Kerry came back from a very short tour in Vietnam and badmouthed all the people who served there, including my Father.

I wish he'd run again so I could vote against him again!
