Isn't it odd that no retail computer store chain has really succeeded, Computerland failed, Compuadd failed, Gateway Stores failed, very few local shops last very long.

Also if your computer fails is there any place you could take it that really knows what they are doing and is half way reasonable in price.

(BTW I like Newegg also, there customer review section is a gold mine of information)

IMHO, it's because there's no profit at all in computer hardware. All of the $$ are in services and service contracts.

That's why BBY and others like them push the service contracts so hard. They're neraly 100% profit.
