Two interesting trends in the 2008 presidential race were uncovered in the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll:
- African American voters, "who little more than a month ago heavily supported Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton... now favor the candidacy of Sen. Barack Obama."
- White evangelical Protestants now clearly favor Rudy Giuliani over Sen. John McCain, "despite his support of abortion rights and gay rights, two issues of great importance to religious conservatives."
In the Democratic race, the poll found Clinton with 43% support, trailed by Obama at 27% and Edwards at 14%. None of the other Democrats running received more than 3%.
On the Republican side, Giuliani leads with 44% to Sen. John McCain's 21%. Newt Gingrich had 15% support.

And I expect to continue to see that happen. You have to go back to the "IKE' campaign for anything comparable, I will be laughed at for that on this site, but it is going to catch the media (dumb) by surprise, it isn't going to be like any 'modern' or 'recent' campaign at all. Watch it unfold.
The 'electorate' is yearning for a positive thinking individual with 'cajones' and he has it in spades. That 'compassionate' thingy is so yesterday.

Giuliani is just Hillary Clinton in a dress.

Re your tagline, the only gun control he will insist on is accuracy, with ROE's that might surprise you. I will remain positive about his candidacy. We will get to talk about it soon enough, probably by this time next year.

LF99 I know you can do better then that. :)

He will, over time, piddle lose this support away if he doesn't roll up his sleeves and do something about it.It is precisely the opposite. It is up to the Rudy-haters to provide an electable alternative to him.
We are moving from theoretical debates about purity and platform to cold, hard electoral reality. Unless you provide a candidate soon, all your complaints will be nothing more than kicking and screaming. You need a viable conservative option NOW, not later.
And if it's Duncan, good luck.

Blacks support Obama.
Whites support Giuliani.
Not surprising and natural.
