BAGHDAD, Iraq A report that 18 boys were killed this week in a car bombing in Ramadi is "false," a senior U.S. military official said Wednesday.
Iraqi state television reported Tuesday that the attack occurred that day in the Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad. Iraqi police and military confirmed the account, but later said the bombing took place Monday. The offices of the president and prime minister had also denounced the reported attack.
The report brought denunciations from top Iraqi officials and international groups about violence targeting children.
But Rear Adm. Mark Fox, a U.S. military spokesman, said "the allegation was false" and suggested that rumors began circulating after a controlled detonation by U.S. forces caused injuries in Ramadi.

The rumor mill was running so fast and they were picking up from each other so there's no telling who got it first. I first saw it on CNN then MSNBC and then Foxnews but Fox continued to run the story throughout the night even after it was becoming clear it was a false report.

Has the treasonous media made it as breaking news today apologizing for the lies they reported yesterday as breaking news? Of course NOT.

They won't go that far. Fox has put it with the general articles, CNN hid it in a story about the bombing today that killed 10 and MSNBC has yet to issue any retraction but they did pull the original article.

They like to make the democrats happy by reporting lies about the war. Foxnews is now a big joke and as bad as any liberal media outlet except for few spots here and there.

I asked my son about the hadjis he worked with / dealt with on his tours yonder.
He said they were, on the whole, about as bright as an American 12 y/o -- if you were lucky. Not that they are stupid, they are quite cunning, but have no education.
Think back to when you were in 8th grade and rumors that flew around. The difference is that the media is reporting these (8th grade level) rumors as fact.
But I guess if you sit and cower in a hotel bar in Baghdad, you are as likely to get sucked in as the next guy.

Yep, it seems we have lost our only media outlet outside the internet and talk radio.
