Warming a cold fact? (Voice of Reason)

All of science, whether it is climatology or biology, benefit from open debate. Those who claim their discipline is settled, and would stifle further debate, are not doing themselves, nor humanity, any favors.

Excellent statement which goes to the heart of what science is. The global warming folk are crossing the line between science and religion. That is extremely unfortunate as cleaning up and preserving the environment is IMO quite desirable. From an aesthetic and scientific position, we need to preserve, protect and clean up the environment.

You're absolutely correct about this.

That is why it is important to take a look at the "drafts" to see what they are going to purge out of the final report in order to make their "conclusion"/summary look somewhat true.

I could not be more angry about any government supported project than I am with the IPCC and their fraudulent behavior.

In short, over the next century, global temperature increases are likely to be modest and do not warrant the extreme measures a hysterical Left is pushing through. No one seriously believes the most drastic measures will do more than drive up energy costs needlessly, harm economic growth and destroy jobs - with few offsetting demonstrable benefits. Yet the Left is pushing such policies out of a fear that if nothing is done, we face a global apocalypse. This is quite exagerrated and the proponents of global warming have not shown the dangers outweigh the effects of the extreme policies they seek to pursue in the name of counteracting them. Granted, environmentalism has become a secular religion for the Left but on this subject its best cooler heads prevail for all our sakes as well as for that of the planet itself.
