Someone please explain this "buying carbon offsets" that Gore and his Hollywooder pals do to "counteract" all their energy overuse.
You pay someone else to not create the CO2 that you will use.
For instance, if I want to burn a 60w light bulb for an hour a day, I can pay someone else to not burn one an hour a day, or plant a tree to eat up that CO2, or some other such BS.
It's a great racket - I think I'm going to start a business like this, to get paid for *not* doing something.
Send me $100 and I'll park my SUV one day a week and ride my motorcycle instead. And then you can drive your SUV guilt free that day.
