This book described in this article sounds so irrational that it doesn't appear illustrating it's errors would be fruitful. If the author is that insane then rational discussion won't resonate with him.

Io saw Hedges on c-span. He has that same crazed, steely eyed look you see in angry Marxists from move-on.org. They are really just trying to convince Christians that Jesus was a socialist and would want them to be Democrats. The paranoia has been spreading for quite a while. I first heard it from a friend who teaches at a LA college and was married to a prominent Hollywood director. during the clinton impeachment. They have peddled immorality and have climbed over the bodies who have fallen to get their success, so they are an elite threatened by resurgence of morality.

Note to the authors of the above referenced books: Before writing about a subject, please become familiar with it. Attempts to slander the subject matter, in this case Christianity, will gain no traction with those who actually know something about it. Your books are selling mostly to those who aren't well read and largely uninformed. Try again.

Tell Mr. Hedges that "it's all true!" We are going to force America to love thy neighbor, and to share bread with the hungry, and *gasp* donate to charities.

I simply don't buy the author's thesis. If you do, then you place yourself under the obligation to accept with equal alacrity the "well I didn't really mean that" backtrackings of every liberal who makes an equally moonbatty or anti-American statement.
