Nah, it's not just you. I'm a righty, but my wife shoots left handed so it's handy to have a thumb safety on both sides like a Ruger. Her only gripe is that the slide release is oriented for righties. Plus I have relatively small hands, so Glock and Sig grips aren't comfortable to me.

I've got what you could call average size hands, but I've always found the grips on Rugers to be the most comfortable, and being a lefty means I have a clear position towards the safety if needed.
