If you could handle your vote for yourself, you wouldn't need the communist Chinese to build a cheap computer or the corrupt Democrats to run it for you.

You'd be able to create and confirm your own real ballot.

Nice attitude there. So in your reality, anyone who uses an electronic voting machine can't handle their own vote, is that it? Maybe I could cut down a tree, make pulp, and actually "create" my own ballot.

All I can say is - you'd have fit in perfectly at DU after the 2004 election. Maybe you can go there and ask for some money to expose the problem. I'm sure they'd love that.

Anyway, I'm done with you. You still haven't said what you've done to fix this grave threat to our Republic (other than post articles here). Are you just a keyboard warrior, or is there any relevant action behind your concern? My guess is a bad fat lazy "no."

If all you're going to do is scour the planet looking for the same kind of articles to post here again and again (or worse, find irrelevant ones like this article), then there's not much you bring to the table. You've basically said the same thing in 100 threads that you could have just said in 1.

I would say "Hasta la vista," but I think that might scare you.

You're saying you'd be 'done' when you haven't done anything. You can do your own voting for yourself, if you muster the courage. You don't need the Chinese or the Democrats to do it for you.

It's not even particularly random when the electronic 'voting' systems fail.

Their MTBF rates are truly abysmal. You wouldn't use anything else that's so unreliable for anything important.

Lots of slogans and silly phrases, but still nothing about what you've actually attempted to fix this problem (other than complain here). Are you going to actually attempt an answer or just keep saying silly phrases like "muster the courage"? FYI - "I'm done with you" means there's no point arguing with a wall.

Gee... and nobody's ever cheated an election with paper ballots. They're so... secure?

Piffle.

While the effects are uncertain, problem gamblers complain that the machines affect how they think, electronic gaming specialist Horbay said. They can't pinpoint the problem, but "this may be part of what they believe is messing up their heads," he said.

So problem gamblers are complaining that the messages on the machines they should be avoiding are messing up their heads while they are in casinos they should be avoiding.

You don't seem to be aware of what I'm saying.

You should also find out about the importance of managing your vote for yourself.

No one is claiming that paper ballots would be perfect, but they are, for all their faults, more reliable than the electronics. This was determined in a study by computer scientists who had set out to prove the opposite.

Do you believe that people with problems should be harmed further because of those problems?

I believe that if you have problems you should avoid the source and not attempt to shift the blame. Problem gamblers should not be in casinos period.

Do you say that should they go to casinos they should be harmed more than otherwise because of it?

If I had a gambling problem, I'd stay out of casinos.

If I was an alcoholic, I'd stay out of bars.

Besides, this is what the problem gamblers claim, not a scientific study.

I doubt I can be any more clear.

..and it is my opinion.

That someone has a gambling problem is not an excuse to make it worse for them.
