The AF has never been know for their fine dining - LOL!
After Vietnam, they contracted out most of the stateside chow halls. Those contracted out were like anything that goes to the lowest bidder - pitiful. We frequently accused them of serving up road kill - an we are not sure they didn't
In contrast, the chow hall at Cannon AFB still had military guys operating it and it was great.
The Navy seemed to have the best grub. I've only been to a few Navy bases, but in each one of them your didn't just eat - you dined.
Give me a chow hall staffed and run by actual military chefs any day!
