How long do we have to protect them from themselves? As SOON as we pull out, the Iraqi security will go sectarian (they are ALL shi'ite), and the bloodshed will start up again.

Don't get me wrong. Our young men fighting over there are AWESOME. They do everything we ask them to and more. The problem is that of Islam and Arab v. Persian hatreds that go back millinea. It is, to use a phrase from Hayek a "fatal conceit" to think that we can transform that culture.

We need to figure out a way to declare victory and get out.
