We'll see. One thing that's put me off of Hunter thus far is the rudeness of many of his supporters here on FR. Shouldn't matter, logically, but none of us is a machine.

I appreciate your concern, but (1) this thread isn't really the place for me to post a whiney list, and (2) I don't believe it's exactly a secret that a handful of familiar names in the Hunter camp meet my description.
I'm confident there are rude folks all over, mind you, I just seem to have had the fortune of "meeting" several in Hunter's corner.

I am supporting Hunter because he has is a strong voice for conservatism.
In recent elections the democrats have owned California.
However, I think that Hunter could make the race very interesting.
If Hunter could carry California, he wouldn't need Florida, Ohio or Pennsylvania to win the presidency.
If nothing else it would be terrific to see the dems spending big bucks defending California.

(Forget Rudy McRomney it's Duncan Hunter in '08!)

Excellent. And Hunter does have a great way of communicating. They chose the right Republican to do the honor.

Keep your eye out for CPAC on C-SPAN coming up this or next week. Hunter is supposed to be one of the speakers. I'll let you know if I find any info on if they'll show him and when.

I attended the DuPage County Annual Lincoln Day Dinner this past Friday.
I attended specifically to hear Duncan Hunter.
Here are my thoughts:
If you heard his speech at CPAC, Hunter gave basically the same speech he gave at CPAC. I left with a very favorable impression of Hunter. It was a good speach and he's a good speaker.
Here are my concerns: The other people at my table didn't know him at all.
The "applause lines" basically came and went. Maybe it was the nature of the event; I understand it was not a Duncan Hunter pep rally but an annual dinner. More of a concern for me, is the sad state of the RINO Republican Party in Illinois. The applause was polite, at best. Many of the people on the dais sat on their hands during Hunter's speech.
So for me, a great evening was tempered by what I feel will be the Illinois Republican Party ordering more of the same. So expect them to line up behind Giuliani.
