MND-CS, Iraq Polish soldiers from Camp Echo in Ad Diwaniyah and soldiers from Camp Delta in Al Kut received humanitarian aid for Iraqi children Feb. 25.
Action coordinator, Krzysztof Kolcz, from the crisis management branch from Wielkopolska province governorate from Poland had collected cleaning supplies, school equipment, toys and sweets, At first, toys and school equipment were delivered, said Edyta Gorlicka, coordinator of humanitarian aid from Civilian Military Cooperation group. Earlier, the same humanitarian stuff was delivered to camp Delta in Al Kut in Wasit province. The Polish Brigade Combat Team and Salvadorian CIMIC group will soon carry out distribution of humanitarian aid in Wasit province. The next part of assistance from Wielkopolska province is due in March.
Soldiers from the Camp Echo CIMIC group are going to hand over these materials to the city of Ad Diwaniyah, the capital of Al Quadisiyah province.
These gifts will be distributed to orphanages, local schools and hospitals, said Lt. Col. Andrzej Dylong, commander of the Polish CIMIC group.
Earlier, the governor of Wielkopolska Province in Poland, Tadeusz Dziuba, requested schools in there to organize collections of humanitarian aid for Iraqi children. Over 150 schools replied to his request.
