I lived in New York under John Lindsay and I've lived in New York under Rudy Giuliani and can tell you first-hand that they are NOTHING alike. Lindsay was an elitist who forgot that the other boroughs existed, and Rudy was the polar opposite -- the rich elites hated him and called him a fascist, but the ethnic Democrats (the ones who live in the outer boroughs) loved him. He would either lose Manhattan or win it by the skin of his teeth, but he would destroy the opposition in Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
How many times do I have to say that Rudy was the best mayor of my lifetime? I'm pushing 50, so I really do have a basis for comparison.

Can you loan me $500? For you to give to a guy who supports butchering little babies? Is the NHL scheduling games in hell?

How many babies did you save on the Internet today E.V.?
To: Corin Stormhands
Awesome!
Just sent in a monthly donation because the chances of a fundraiser here are not that high. Think I am going to check into the one in Dallas because it is only 2 1/2 hours from where I live.

How many babies did you save on the Internet today E.V.? How many you gonna save supporting a candidate who thinks Margaret Sanger is one of the heroes of American history?

The difference is, E.V., that you think the battle will be one at the national level. I think it's a matter of the heart.
The abortion battle won't be won in the courtroom or the legislature.
To: Corin Stormhands
I think it's a matter of the heart. Right. So you back a candidate whose heart is with NARAL and Margaret Sanger.
Makes perfect sense.
If you're a mental patient.

Yesterday at church I talked to guy I know about the race. He said he was supporting Rino Rudy, I then aske dif he knew of his pro infantide stance. He did not. He, after being educated on it, sid he could not support him. I suggested he look at Duncan Hunter. I am Catholic and he assumed that since Rino Rudy was catholic he had Catholic believes. To quote this guy, "I did not know he was cino, Catholic in name only.

[.. What a terrific, terrific article. So much for the looneytoons on Free Republic who wish to paint Rudy as a liberal. ..]
Rudy and Hitlery believe in many of the same things...
also Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Barney Frank, and Chuck Schumer..

I am Catholic and he assumed that since Rino Rudy was catholic he had Catholic believes. As a practicing Catholic, I am ashamed at the public scandal non-believers, like Rudy, who call themselves Catholic, give to all the young Americans who now think that you can be Catholic and still hold positions opposing Catholic teachings.

"Rudy is a fiscal and law and order conservative...."
"Law and order conservative"?
Mayor of the US largest sanctuary city? A free-for-all in regards to illegals?
Shhhhhheeeeeeeesh. Since when has selective law enforcement been equated with "law and order conservative? When did we all turn that corner and start sliding down that slippery slope?

You've implied your personal support for abortion with that. But 'abortion' is a term that can mean many techniques at different times.
Just the facts, please: Are you personally in favor of partial-birth-abortion at birth without anesthetic, without requiring parental notification and without mandatory disclosure of the father to law enforcement authorities in statutory rape cases--while doing everything possible to make it costly for willing adoptive parents? Please clarify your precise personal position.

Do you ever read any of the posts from us Rudy people all this time or do you just make up stuff while you go along. We are all anti-abortion but we don't consider abortion a litmus test for president. Rudy will appoint anti-abortion judges like he said and it will go to the states like it should. Plain and simple.

You are the one who's not read enough posts if you think everyone posting on FR is anti-abortion.
For example, you just contradicted yourself.
Answer my question please.

They pretty much always share the same slogans. Slogans are meaningless.
As much as I'd rather have another choice for President, it seems so absurd as to defy logic to suggest that a Gulliani Presidency would be indistinguishable from a Clinton Presidency.
To: Peach
You have no idea how ignorant you sound when you try to paint him as a liberal. You don't sound ignorant you are ignorant. Show me where I've ever painted the liberal Rudy as liberal.
Rudy painted himself liberal and used several coats in the process.
