"Well, if you wish to prevent me from obtaining a pistol and carrying it, maybe you are the gun-grabber."
The only thing preventing you from obtaining and a pistol and carrying it is the fact that you CHOOSE to live in new york.
Subjecting everyone else to a really bad gun law because it would make your horrible gun laws better is very selfish. Work to change your own damn gun laws and leave every else alone.
I live in Illinois, one of the few states that won't issue a concealed carry permit. I'm retired now and my wife's job allows her to live anywhere in the U.S., we are scouting real estate in a more second amendment friendly state. Texas is looking real good too.
I think you should think more carefully about this matter.
If a Federal law enabled people in places like New York to carry a gun, then some people would do so. You would pick up supporters in states where you now have none. They will contribute money and urge their representatives to further liberalize gun laws. They will also show their friends in the red states that not everyone who carries a gun is a criminal, making them more likely to support further reforms.
If, however, you prefer to alienate potential allies, and annoy those of us in urban areas who wish you well, then you are unlikely to be very successful in your quest.
