What traits does one look for in a Cammander-in-Chief? However they are defined, I believe we got to see them first hand, September 11th, 2001. Terrorists destroyed two of the largest buildings in America simultaneously, and the man in charge of the city was Rudy. We saw, first hand, how he reacted and how he handled himself. Of all the candidates running, we know how one will react to crises, we saw it.

Whether or not he is presidential material enough for my vote, is another matter; but, in CIC column he has five stars.

That's exactly my point. There is nothing in his history that would qualify him over anyone else running for the nomination. If there was something that I wasn't aware of, I was hoping you or someone here could have told me.

As far as people jumping to their death, we all watched it unfold on tv. It was awful to even contemplate what was going through their minds. Too bad the media quit showing those scenes. We would probably be a little more united as a country.

Maybe, too, if we televised abortions taking place, those who wonder why I can't vote for Giulianni would understand.

What are his qualifications? Well he can dress in drag, he knows how to prance around a disaster scene, he knows how to take away our guns, he would support gay and lesbian marriage, and finally, he believes the unborn have no rights.

Sounds qualified to me. scar/off

To: Question Liberal Authority
If you rephrase the question, "among the likely presidential candidates, which one is most qualified to enforce the laws of the United States", you'd have to put Rudy at or near the top of that list.

Like he enforced United States immigration laws in New York?

Ditto. At the end of the day, McCain would get my vote. Rudy? Never.

Add my ditto.

As screwed up as he is, McCain is the more conservative of the two.

We'll overlook his liberalness on most issues because he's a strong LEADER.

THAT is what makes Giulinani dangerous. He is liberal, AND he is a strong leader.

Eight years of Rudy's srong leadership, and we would have a federal gun registry, welfare abortions and federal recognition of "gay" marriages.

Situational Politics!!! Pure Political opportunism and little else! Bill Clinton is still pist the whole awful thing didn't happen on "his watch!"

The United Kingdom didn't see fit to continue Winston Churchill's tenure simply due to his courageous, persistence and determination or even popularity. We elected Dwight Eisnehour, the "Greatest Generation's" war hero and got Earl Warren for our trouble.

In CA we turned away a committed fiscal conservative for a flashy RINO and we are now perched in the deepest of doodoo's!!!

The property rights and individual control of 1/5th of CA's land mass is now under appuratchick control of a new State bureaucracy to be certain all private property interspersed between government properties can be controlled by GovernMental EnvironMentalists and their fiendish, stop everything man-made activist groups!!!

Rudy is a big fan of GovernMental contol of individualism. Being a celebrity and especially a celebrity prosecuter does that to a person. Look what it did to Eliot Spitzer! These guys begin to take on an Eliot Ness or J. Edgar Hoover personna, i.e. "The Untouchables!!!

The Republican Party could, and should learn at least one thing from the DemonicratICK Party. Just because we are a republic, doesn't mean we need to fear the democratic process and always be reluctant to move from a supposed "front runner" a year or more before the Primary Elections, to actually examine the characteristics of lesser know, less well funded candidates.

Abraham Lincoln would be completely passed up in todays reluctant Republican Party process. Now with states rushing to move their Primaries up to next February, our range of alternatives is deliberately being snuffed out and some of the best alternatives will be simply broomed into oblivion!!!

Worst of all, we could be forced into making an unimpeachable mistake! Impeachments aren't going to be tried again for a long, long time after Clinton was let go by a Republican Senate "leadership!" A classic example of "Reluctant Republicans" in inaction!!!

I don't have a link, but I've seen it posted many many times here that McCain is the only Nam POW that came back weighing more than he did before his capture.

That info should be available from his medical records.

I have never seen anyone refute that claim.

I don't see a best candidate right now.

I like what Rudy has done with NYC. Rudy cut taxes, fought against the politically correct such as the ACLU, the NY Times, the racial arsonists, the unions, Arafat, Castro, the Saudi's, organized crime and much more. He was tough on crime.

I believe he would be a great CIC in the WOT.

What I like most about Rudy is his track record on cutting spending. We have some Republican congressmen who could learn from that including the described best conservative in the race, Duncan Hunter.

Unfortunately, Rudy says that there is a "right" to kill one's unborn baby. Additionally, a Rudy nomination would likely result in a so-called conservative running as a third party candidate and I do believe that Hillary would win in that scenario.

So, I hope a good conservative steps up soon.

"He's the only one that can beat Hillary!!!"

They all would easily beat Hillary, but unfortunately she won't be the nominee.

Wow, the same restrictions that exist for driving an automobile.

That would loosen up the law considerably in most parts of the country. Of course, we do allow those with criminal records to drive.

His only qualification is he has supported the Iraq war and hasn't flip-flopped yet.

Who needs spending cuts, right?

"We'll overlook his liberalness on most issues because he's a strong LEADER."

So where are these virtues of "leadership" I keep on hearing about? How are the lives of us poor and ignorant proles improved by these strong LEADERS? I think it's completely overblown. People will usually do the right thing for themselves given the time and half a chance.

This is a very basic problem with the conservative mindset circa 2007. We're far too busy waiting for revelations and messianic LEADERS than we are in actually creating a conservative society in our own midst.

About Duncan Hunter.........................

Words worth noting: " Despite the district having a 2 to 1 Democrat registration, Hunter won in an upset".

Rudy APPEARS to want to be tough on the WOT, that being his only appeal here, but his choice of dress style on occasion has me a tad worried. LOL

What the heck is wrong with some of you? Like I said, I'm no McCain fan, but to just keep throwing that out there is irresponsible.

I'm no McCain fan but the man was tortured for years. I ask myself, could I have withstood what he endured?

He has a few loose screws but who wouldn't?

I'll vote for the Republican nominee in the general against any dem and just pray that it's not Rudy or McCain.
