You would think they would have given Peter O'Toole a lifetime achievement award.
They man is definitely a talent that has contributed much to their industry. ... As has George Lucas I might also add. I don't like his politics, but I love his work.

He did get a lifetime achievement award a few years ago...but it is just not the same as an Oscar and I think he knows this was his last chance. He has got lots of company, though, of great actors who never got the Oscar...John Wayne comes to mind...

They did, in 2003. I've read that he was tempted to decline the honorary award, because he thought he might yet earn one; in the end, he accepted.
