You can violently dislike and rag on Angelina's sex life, taste in body art and political leanings with good cause.

When you flatly lie about the good she's done in the world, though, you do nothing for your cause:

Jolie first became personally aware of worldwide humanitarian crises while filming Tomb Raider in poverty-stricken and widely mined Cambodia. According to Jolie, "I discovered things about what's happening in the world... Cambodia was really eye opening for me."[38] Deeply affected by these experiences, she eventually turned to UNHCR for more information on international trouble spots. In the following months she agreed to visit different refugee camps around the world to learn more about the situation and the conditions in these areas. In February 2001, Jolie went on her first field visit, an 18-day mission to Sierra Leone and Tanzania; she later expressed her shock at what she had witnessed.[39] In the coming months she returned to Cambodia for two weeks and later visited Afghan refugees in Pakistan where she donated $1 million for Afghan refugees in response to an international UNHCR emergency appeal.[40] She insisted on covering all costs related to her missions and shared the same rudimentary working and living conditions as UNHCR field staff on all of her visits.[39] Impressed by her interest and devotion in the subject, UNHCR named her a Goodwill Ambassador on August 27, 2001 at UNHCR headquarters in Geneva, despite her warning that her controversial public image might shed a negative light on the U.N.[41] In a press conference Jolie explained her motives for joining the refugee agency:

“ We cannot close ourselves off to information and ignore the fact that millions of people are out there suffering. I honestly want to help. I don't believe I feel differently from other people. I think we all want justice and equality, a chance for a life with meaning. All of us would like to believe that if we were in a bad situation someone would help us.[39] ”

Jolie talking to displaced children in Ardamata camp, West Darfur.During her first three years as Goodwill Ambassador Jolie concentrated her efforts on field missions, visiting refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) all around the world. Asked what she hoped to accomplish, she stated, “Awareness of the plight of these people. I think they should be commended for what they have survived, not looked down upon.”[42] In 2002, Jolie visited Tham Hin refugee camp in Thailand and Colombian refugees in Ecuador to take a closer look at the “Western Hemisphere's most severe humanitarian crisis”.[43] She and US Secretary of State Colin Powell opened events to celebrate World Refugee Day 2002 on June 20 in Washington, D.C.[44] Jolie then went to various UNHCR facilities in Kosovo and paid a visit to Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya with refugees mainly from Sudan. UNHCR's Representative to Kenya, George Okoth-Obbo, praised her “presence, just to bring some joy into what is undoubtedly a hard life for many of the people here”.[45] She also visited Angolan refugees while she was filming Beyond Borders in Namibia.

She's spent millions of dollars and spent more time with actual poor people and refugees than many people whose job it is to help the downtrodden.

Thank you for your post.

I am willing to wager that Angelina Jolie has done more tangible good for this world than the entirety of this forum.

It's called "P.R."

It's Hollywood. It's make-believe. It's pretend.

The actors do not make up the words as they act out the script.

The volcanoes and sinking ships and gorillas are CGI.

IT'S NOT REAL.

This thread is like pistachio nuts.

Here is a compilation of the facts of the Brangelina birth at the private seaside lodge in Nambia. They got 4 million dollars for the baby pics, and they donated 300,000 to local hospitals there. You do the math.

There are a few more little nuggets in there, but basically you can find thousands of these stories debunking your "AJ sleeps on the ground in a mud hut with chickens and goats"
theory. This woman has got to be the most successful con artist in the world today. She scammed an African dictatorship! Think about it!
