The prestigious Council on Foreign Relations is about to get a jolt of sex appeal.

The exclusive, Manhattan-based foreign-policy group has decided to admit actress Angelina Jolie, a U.N. goodwill ambassador who has taken more than 30 trips worldwide to advocate for refugees, AIDS orphans and disaster victims.

I happened to be watching that particular show and saw what was going on between brother and sister. It was disgusting even before she gave her speech.
That woman has no business "collecting" children, which is what she does. AJ and Brad just put in a bid on a snappy little Vietnamese number, it's a boy to match Cambodian Maddox, complete with millions in glowing press and ooohs and ahhhs from adoring fans. I could go back and find the interview where she slams Madonna for her African purchase, but it really is to slimy to even contemplate further.

It was gross and creepy, but in those days, she was more interested in being deliberately shocking (but no one took the incest thing seriously). Fortunately, she has since knocked off that nonsense.

As for collecting children, that seems to be a Hollyweird fad, although it might've actually had that beneficial effect of forcing her to grow up and be responsible. If she wants to be the modern-day Josephine Baker, I can think of worse people to emulate.

Collecting children the way that Josephine Baker (NOT a role model), Mia Farrow, Brangelina, and Madonna have done is entirely unhealthy and just plain wrong. Meg Ryan just adopted a baby from China; she needs a comeback. And then there's Joan Crawford...

Mia Farrow, stalwart pillar of mental stability!

OK, Hildy, you be as outraged as you want, but you might look around and find out about how AJ totally wrecked ordinary people's chances at adopting children from Cambodia. The kids who now languish in Cambodian orphanages can thank that demented skank/movie star/humanitarian. The private, crooked agency she used was in Seattle, IIRC.

Do you know anyone who has ever tried to adopt? Performing open heart surgery on yourself would be easier. Everybody lost out except Angelina. As is reported in news, she and Brad are getting another baby, this one from o so trendy Vietnam. And the couples who have waited for years get bumped off again... p.s. The daughter she gave birth to only a few months ago, the one she calls a "blob", isn't a big deal. Angie famously told the media she likes her adopted children more. So, why doesn't she put that kid up for adoption?

I certainly question celebrities motives about collecting trophy children, especially when the rules for adoption are bent for them.

Sorry, Hildy, I can't agree with you on this one. I think she is made up to be attractive, but wash the makeup off and remove the lens with screens to hide the imperfections, and she is no more attractive, and less attractive, than the average girl walking the streets.

Her acceptance to the CFR only reduces its already less than admirable membership. The fact that she has adopted two foreign children does not make her any better than a mother who has given birth to children. She is dragging those children all over the world just to promote herself. I do believe she goes after what she wants regardless of who is hurt. She claims in one breath she and Pitt didn't have an affair until after he left Aniston, but in the next breath she says she was so attracted to him that she couldn't wait to go to work each day. That certainly sounds like she sent him the message, but that doesn't excuse him for responding. If she isn't dressed to the nines, she looks like she needs a good scrubbing with a disinfectant soap! I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and you see something I don't see. I see a person who is not pretty on the inside and it shows on the outside and no amount of creating her own persona can hide the fact that she doesn't click on all cylinders IMHO.
