Unfortunately, Rudy's political "evolution" appears to have stalled before reaching conservatism.

I'm not particularly in love with Guiliani, but I don't think that this is particularly distressing. He was a democrat when he was in his 20's. BFD. So was I and I'm going to guess a lot of other freepers were too.

There's plenty more to worry about than this.

Are Republicans now against converts? How stupid are these people. Its like the morons on the other side who got angry when they found out Clark had voted for Ronald Reagan. So did 49 states. And Goldwater eventually did become a liberal anyway, so maybe its for the best that he didn't become President.

The only thing he is good for is beating the Hil and/or Obama.
If he can beat them, fine. Otherwise he is no conservative.

Looks like it has become the trend. They have gone so far as to say that conservatives who like and support Rudy are RINOS and/or Liberals. check out some of the Rudy threads. We have all been called RINOS and LIBERALS. We vote straight Republican and support only Republican candidates but that is not good enough we have to follow them like they are Jim Jones.

I guess he found out that cleaner streets without bums was better than the Dinkins do-nothing approach, but in order to be mayor of Gotham, he could never think of flip-flopping all the way to conservatism. Republicans are desperate for a winner, someone the MSM will not shred on the "social issues." And, so we have Rudy being sold to us by those who "know best". Isn't that what is most distasteful about the Democrats, that they always "know what's best"? In 2008, it's more true than ever, the two partys are like Coors and Coors lite - little flavor, and no flavor.

No, but the key word is converts. Rudy's position on far to many issues are left wing.

There is one issue to me my friend. If the Dems get in the Islamics will have a field day on the US . At that point I dont think you or anyone else is going to be all that concerned with gay marriage and other such "pressing "issues. I dont agree with all his domestic policies but he's going to be rock solid on the WOT and thats THE issue. If the Dems get in Akbar and friends will be celebrating and a MAJOR event will hit the homeland making 9/11 look like a day at the beach . Mark my words .

We havthe vast ber that Rudy went to law school where the vast teaching staff is hell bent on indoctrinating students to liberalism and in the absence of indoctrination, they teach law students that the majority conservatives must be silent and push the liberalism voice in order to achieve promotion.

Rudy Guiliani's so called microscopic examples as mayor only serve as exceptions to the left wing content of d a chngacter.

It does not mater that he returned a single donation which would have pissed off the pro-israel wing of NYC supporters. The fact is that Rudy Guliani MUST pass litmus tests to distinguish himself from the Clintons, Obamas, Kerrys, and Edwards. (only Obama is not a lawyer in that list)

DINO trumps RINO.

Hilary Clinton is working overtime to move to the perception of being on the right of politics.

I prefer someone OUTSIDE of the NYC political zone.

Remember most all MSM stories are routed through NYC. The betway includes NYC.
