Rudy To Attend CPAC

I reported a piece last month about how Rudy and McCain were skipping some conservative conferences.  One of the events I mentioned that they had not yet RSVP'd to is the Grandaddy Of Them All -- the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC.

Turns out Rudy will attend CPAC.  He'll speak to the confab Friday.

I suggest that Rudy get some believable conservative dialog if he plans on addressing conservatives.....

His excuses for previous statements by him about abortion and 2nd amendment issues are lame, pathetic and very transparent.....and he dosent even make an attempt with the illegals issue.

.........he cannot win the nomination with his baggage...

Oh and if Pataki ran for president you would support him??? I don't think so.

I would not support Pataki in the primaries for the exact same reasons I would not support Rudy. But at least Pataki didn't backstab the party in 1994.

I would like you to take a look at the Duncan Hunter threads and tell me how many Rudy people go there and spam his threads with hateful Rudy comments?

And why, pray tell, would Rudy people spam a Hunter thread with hateful Rudy comments? I have yet to see anything in Hunter's record to attack.

If they do I will gladly tell them to stop and leave the threads alone.

Well no wonder you're pro Rudy; you're a control freak. You think it's your province to tell people what they can and cannot say, just as Rudy thinks it's up to the police to protect the people after he's rendered them defenseless.

It fits you perfectly.

Here's the reality (EEE correct me if I'm wrong), ExtremelyExtremeExtremist was confronted with historical facts about Rudy, observed his current behavior against that record, and changed his preference in the primary. Providing those facts and arguments is the purpose of discussion in a public forum. So, in contrast to that purpose, you want to keep all such discussions bottled up in little private conversations so as to keep the sheep from going astray. The reduced flow of ideas and facts would leave the media as the only means of dissemination and may the guy with the most media bucks win.

I see. Forget that idea. If you post material about Rudy in a public forum, expect to be confronted with his record.

Well if you don't like Pataki why does it bother you that Rudy didn't support him? Doesn't make too much sense when you guys don't like certain Republicans like Rudy and don't support them and threaten to vote for Hillary if he wins the nomination? What makes you guys so different?

Oh really?

Really. If you'd like I can provide some examples. BEFORE his ephiphany.

well He's one of you guys I hope you enjoy him.

I do. He's one of "you guys" PRECISELY BECAUSE HE IS A CONSERVATIVE. Unlike you and your ilk slithering around the forum promoting a liberal to be the GOP nominee.

Because let me tell you - you have brainwashed another one to become a hater.

HAAATER! HAAATER! All that's left is for you to call EEE an enemy of the people for his epiphany about Rudy.

And drop the soviet bullcrap - you got him so enjoy him.

The Soviet comparison is quite apt - you are trying to re-write history just the way they did. About EEE AND RUDY.

That GOP loyalty thing - you know, that wins elections. The same loyalty that the Rudy boosters will demand from "you guys" if Rudy wins the nomination. The same loyalty that Rudy didn't show in 1994.

Rudy Guiliani has marched in lockstep with liberals on affirmative action, gay rights, gay marriage, gun control, school prayer, tuition tax credits, liberal immigration policies, and he's reinforced it, time and time again. Just about everytime Rudy opens his mouth, offensive liberal words come pouring out. As Mayor, Rudy put liberals in high-paid city jobs, an indication what a Rudy WH would look like. Here then is Rudy in his own words:

--The New York State Liberal Party on its endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for Mayor: "When the Liberal Party Policy Committee reviewed a list of key social issues of deep concern to progressive New Yorkers, we found that Rudy Giuliani agreed with the Liberal Party's stance on a majority of such issues. He agreed with the Liberal Party's views on affirmative action, gay rights, gun control, school prayer and tuition tax credits. As Mayor, Rudy Giuliani would uphold the Constitutional and legal rights to abortion." N.Y.S. Liberal Party Endorsement Statement of Candidate Giuliani for Mayor of New York City April 8, 1989

--On the Republican Party: "Mr. Rockefeller represented 'a tradition in the Republican Party' I've worked hard to re-kindle - the Rockefeller, Javits, Lefkowitz tradition." Rudy Giuliani told the New York Times July 9, 1992

--Village Voice Interview with Guiliani: He was asked: "What kind of Republican Is [Giuliani]? A Reagan Republican?" Giuliani pauses before answering: "I'm a Republican." Village Voice January 24, 1989

--On Attending 1996 Republican Convention: Rudy expressed his pleasure when he wasn't invited to the Republican National Convention in San Diego. "If I take three or four days off from city business, I want to do it for a substantive purpose. It didn't seem to me any substantive purpose could be served by going to the Republican convention." said Rudy. Rudy! An Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani, Page 459, by Wayne Barrett

--On Barry Goldwater: Giuliani described John Kennedy as "great and brilliant. Barry Goldwater as an "incompetent, confused and sometimes idiotic man." New York Daily News, May 13, 1997

--On President Bill Clinton: Shortly before his last-minute endorsement of Bob Dole in the 1996 presidential election, Giuliani told the Post's Jack Newfield that "most of Clinton's policies are very similar to most of mine." Rudy! An Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani, Wayne Barrett.

--The Daily News quoted Giuliani as saying March 1996: "Whether you talk about President Clinon, Senator Dole.... The country would be in very good hands in the hands of any of that group." An Investigative Biography of Rudolph Giuliani, Wayne Barrett.

What about his endorsement of Cuomo? He'll get no support from me. Never. Babykilling gungrabbers, crossdressing draft evaders do NOT belong in the WH.

LISTEN BUDDY IF I'M A CONTROL FREAK YOU GUYS ARE DICTATORS!

You are the one trying to dictate what should and should not be said about Rudy and Hunter.

Every Republican is not good enough - they have to follow your rules your ideals your litmus test.

And that's a lie as well. Conservatives supported Bush twice despite Bush's departure on several key issues such as spending and entitlement growth and amnesty.

We were asked to take a half-step leftward with Bush and went along to keep the GOP in power. Now YOU and RUDY are asking us to take the other half-step. If we do that, what is left in the GOP for us? Very little.

So cut out the name calling.

You're the one who started this with a lie about EEE. Don't complain when you are called on your lie.

Not me.

Now, tell me how my position, based as it is on conservative principles that I refuse to compromise, ever, is worse than Giuliani's historic support for Democrats and other assorted liberals.

I was talking to dirtboy and he was talking about loyalty to the Republican party. He already talked about Cuomo. Do you think he'll vote for Rudy if Rudy wins the nomination? I don't think so. You guys have no loyalty to the party.
