Rudy To Attend CPAC

I reported a piece last month about how Rudy and McCain were skipping some conservative conferences.  One of the events I mentioned that they had not yet RSVP'd to is the Grandaddy Of Them All -- the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC.

Turns out Rudy will attend CPAC.  He'll speak to the confab Friday.

"Rudy has better things to do than grab cannons"

Perhaps this would be a good time to let Rudy express his feelings on the matter. We could get a freeeper at CPAC to ask him if he wants to ban guns or just develop some common sense regulation of them.

Maybe, like respected hunting legend Jim Zumbo , he believes that assault weapons like the AR-15 have no valid hunting purpose and are only the tools of terrorists. Surely someone could ask him if he would protect us from the terrorists and renew the AWB.

snicker, snicker

Did you ever find any resolution to the objection you had to the traditional Catholic view of marriage? Or have you decided to remain an Episcopalian?

Since this discussion happened on an Anglican thread, why did you think I was Episcopalian? Why are you bringing this up on a Rudy thread? I think it's inappropriate.

Oh, and it's a complete lie that I object to the traditional Catholic view of marriage. But you knew that.

The word, "lame" appears nowhere in the post.

This was your request for me to give my soure. It was your first request. You used the word "lame".

The person who went to a crappy tone with personal insults was you. I have asked you three times now for support of your claims. No one has stopped you from posting it. In over 150 posts, you still haven't done it. I suggest you get to work on providing that data, with sources, or STFU.

As documented, the crappy tone is yours. As I suggest if you want to have a polite conversation about Hunter and spending, either you change your tone or you STFU.

I suggest you read my post to you, stick to the facts and stop engaging in hyperbole.

I don't know if you're intentionally trying to confuse the issue now, but the statement says "most visible urban achievement" not "greatest urban achievement". If you can't understand the difference I guess that says a lot.

Here is the sequence of posts:

Great to hear!

Rudy's fiscal conservatism and turnaround in NYC (1993-2001) has been called the greated achievement of the 20th century.

the greated achievement of the 20th century.

Sure put that moon landing thingy to shame. Totally blows away penicillin. Or eradicating polio...

I should have put fiscal achievement. Some others conservative reporters have termed it the greatest urban achievement of the 20th century.

So as we can all see, you corrected yourself after it was challenged by another poster, not before. Even with the correction, the statement is still false, but you still try to spin it. "Most visible" and "one of the greatest urban achievements" do not equal "the greatest" no matter how many times you repeat it.

So who's the liar?

stick to the facts and stop engaging in hyperbole.

It is not hyperbole. It is based on unbroken history. Everyone, without exception, who supports Giuliani or is positively disposed toward him has been deemed insufficiently conservative.

Rudy was talking about Bill Clinton and a fair number of Bill Clinton's policies WERE similar to Republicans

Gotta love it. To a Giuliani supporter, Rooty's Republican credentials are obtained by his self-admitted similarity to Bill Clinton.

We've entered Bizarro-World...

I guess we've got nothing to fear from Hillary, then, according to you. After all, most of her policies are very similar to most of Bill's. I suppose that means, in Rooty-speak, that Hillary now has Republican credentials!

I'd say the word semantics to you, but you're so reading impaired you probably don't know what it means.

You sound exactly like the person who told me that Ted Olson didn't really endorse Rudy because Ted didn't explicitly say the word "I endorse Rudy". ROFL

And now, I consider you a huge waste of bandwidth and will end with Newt's words on Rudy:

"New York is four times safer than it used to be. It's one of the greatest achievements of government (i.e., fiscal for the dimbulbs and organizational) capability in the 20th century."

Rudy never dodges questions -- he meets them head on as witnessed on the Hugh Hewitt interview.

Hewitt is the king of softball interviews.

Hewitt is the king of softball interviews.

Especially when he's interviewing fellow RINOs.

Since you ask...

Why are you bringing this up on a Rudy thread? I think it's inappropriate.

...Because it is important not only to know what positions one holds, but why one holds them.

I have asked you three times now for support of your claims. No one has stopped you from posting it. In over 150 posts, you still haven't done it.

First you say 3 posts. In the next sentence you say 150 posts.

What a sleezy insinuation.

That's now three insinuations on your part all because I had the nerve to bring up Hunter and his voting record on spending.

As I recall, he (Hunter) gets a C+ on spending which isn't terribly good.

Another great post. Keep posting this, though I doubt the one issue Cut-Copy-Paste posters would read it, much less comprehend it, but the aim is to present information to lurkers and those people on the fence.

Good job!

Excuse me? Calling some FReepers "insufficiently conservative", isn't the same as denigrating CPAC. I think I answered your question and then some in my post at #237. There is no reason to denigrate the CPAC Convention and explained my opinion on that in my post at #122. The post you originally replied to. Implying that I would denigrate the CPAC meeting, is pure hyperbole. If you prefer, call it sillytalk on your part. Whatever.

The fact remains, Rudy is NO conservative. PERIOD! And his positions on the social issues marks him as a leftwing extremist. That comes from a conservative, not willing to sell out his political soul to back a liberal candidate merely out of political expediency. Your outrageous rhetoric just pushes us anti-Rudy forces even harder in opposition to his candidacy. Keep it up.
